Oh, not to mention that those strange bugs, i.e. the FOW bug, the inability to attach mobs on shards, and the few others that linger that are pretty annoying need love before, but I'm sure you know that. Just saying it to hear myself say it.

I have been this games biggest cheerleader, and that won't change assuming the balance is fixed, but a patch before release to make sure balance doesn't swing too far in the other direction is an absolute MUST. Please consider it your highest priority to give the beta testers another swing at it before launch. That's (balance) the only thing I can see being a true negative if it is not addressed. Otherwise, no, it's not too soon. It's one of St

I still think that the highest tier trainable units are pretty pathetic, attack-power wise. Dragons, Paladins etc. really don't pack any attack-power punch and there's no way to really fix that.

Yikes, kinda sounds like the SK team isn't really getting a week off... I am glad to hear that changes are being made and the scout issue is fixed! Huzzah! That was probably more important than most realized!

Gettino close to the finish line now! Hope the rest of development goes smoothly! Looking forward to the final product. As I've said many times before, this easily ranks among the best fantast 4X games of all time. That's not hyperbolic. That being said, I think 5.4 was a move in the wrong direction. Weapons balance has swung too far in the negative, random mobs are ridiculous, flagons are nearly non-existent, and the extra Urxen for the SK leads to non-existent chances

I've had this happen multiple times and honestly, it is probably among the most annoying of bugs for me now. Nothing ruins a good save like negating the need for any scouting at all. A large part of the fun is in the discovery. Please fix this, guys :-(

Yeah, can confirm this strange behavior. I think that aside from my Let's Play, I'm going to put this game on hold until release. Some weird bugs that have been around for too long and the fact that the balance is completely out of whack is really reducing the enjoyment for me currently. Still a great game, but some of this stuff is starting to irritate me more than it should.

I agree. I'm 60 turns in on my latest game and there are mobs EVERYWHERE, to the point where I can't get anything done. The difficulty has swung too far again, gents. (Much better post, Ookami)

Seriously, man? Grow up. This is NOT how you provide feedback. The balance changes ARE a bit too nerfing, but to come in here and say that they must be smoking crack is not only immature, but counter productive. As you say, only a fool doesn't heed advice. My advice to you is to avoid being rude and offensive when you want your feedback to be heard. Heed it.

It's happened twice. First time I thought was a fluke or bad memory. This time, I'm certain of it. Loading a save game will occasionally remove the crystal shard claims that you have. Happened to two of my shards just now.

[quote who="ScottTykoski" reply="5" id="3567603"] Quoting XWerewolfX, reply 4 I've seen you talk about nerfing heroes a bit and perhaps making some of the higher-tier enemies a bit stronger, but what else do you think it needs? I'm going to go the 'side-stepping bastard' route

[quote who="ScottTykoski" reply="3" id="3567584"] Yeah, forums make it really hard to see the broader picture sometimes, but honestly, the Range thing only came up as a 'small annoyance' in less than 10% of our feedback reports. I certainly understand why people want it (I've had battles where I want a better cover system) but when you have quick battles as a design goal, a ranged systems that encourages min/max-ing your positions actually works against that goal.

[quote who="ScottTykoski" reply="1" id="3567551"] this is by far and away the most frequent issue players have with Sorcerer King. I think you're just hearing a vocal minority, honestly. The biggest issue is pacing, though we have discussed how to deal with some of the Ranged complaints. The system won't get a massive overhaul for 1.0, but we'll certainly put some time into it (after pacing gets some muc

In my travels across the internet, one complaint has become the most consistent and it probably needs to be addressed before 1.0: ranged combat. What I'm saying here isn't new or something that hasn't been addressed by the devs already, but I fear it is enough of a common complaint that you may see some backlash of it isn't addressed. There needs to be range limitations. There needs to be a base hit-chance drop, with leveling increasing accuracy.&nb

I just loaded my save as a Guardian (sorta just save scummed...sorta, maybe, OKAY I DID) and half the map is now permanently revealed with no FOW. It stays this way even if I reload that same save. I can send the save if someone needs it. Also, there has been something that annoys me that I'm just now getting around to reporting. Each time I speak with the Rivals, that "Treasure Chest Opening" sound occurs every couple responses to their dialogue and if I answ

Starter my fourth game with the new patch (after the public build went...public) and the SK is now interacting quite a bit with me. I like it a lot. I don't know if there was a fix or if that I'm just lucky this time.
