Each city will be like a hero? That's not a great idea. That's one of the BEST ideas EVER!!!! Seriously as i have said again and again you have a very good core game(and quite enjoyable also),and it's up to balancing and adding carefully stuff to make it one of the best ever in it's category. And one last proposal. Please consider a town screen like Heroes 7.A static town screen with little movement when you
I agree; it's the best game you've made since GalCiv2 and honestly, with some added factions and more of everything (quests, items, etc), and varying Sorcerer King forms, I think it will be the best game you've ever made, period. Its systems work so well together that you can't help but play over and over again. Every decision matters and tactical combat feels weighty enough while being fast and fun that I *want* to fight every fight.
Beta 5.51 has brought upon the first crashes-to-desktop that I've seen. I would've brushed them off, but my friend is having them, too. Anyone else?
I can tell you this, it is MUCH MORE LIKELY to happen when I savescum. That's the only way I can consistently reproduce the FoW issue.
^ All the flaws? ^ While I'll admit there are some persistent bugs that I found frustrating if only for their persistence through many reports, the only one that I truly feel takes away from the experiencd that I'VE encountered is the Fog of War bug. It's easily the most distracting to the game experience. I really hope that you guys reconsider your self-imposed lockdown. Not fixing bugs because you're worried about introducing bugs sounds silly to me, with all
I agree with Frog that "edge cases" shouldn't affect game reviews (and in my case, they won't), but the FOW bug isn't that much of an edge case. I've seen it over a half-dozen times and for someone like me, the bug is a current-play-through killer. The exploration phase is so important -and so fun - that the elimination of it 1, 2, 3 and sometimes 4 or 5 hours in to a game makes me very tempted to give up that play through. It has occurred in half my games and I
Furthermore, I'm still seeing bugs that have been reported by myself and others. That's quite disappointing. I really like the game, but seeing some persistent bugs is a bit disheartening. Just saying. Attack animations are still off some times. Mouse cursor issues persist. Sounds at random times. Map FOW. Tile yield icons disappearing. These have been reported quite a few times and they're still in game.
On occasion, when I load up a saved game the fog of war either disappears entirely or only partially, as is the case in my latest game. About 3/4's of the map has mysteriously been revealed, despite me not having scouted it. It's happened in other games in previous beta iterations and I've sent Scott save games of it then, but it's still happening. This bug is rather devastating as it provides full view of the game map and effectively ruins the exploration phase.
THANK YOU FSEMPRINI!!!
It's freaking awesome, now. 5.5 is the shit!
I didn't, but Cardinal was first, so if the OP didn't deliver, give Direction the key :-)
Yes, please!!! If you have more than one..
Your best game in the series, no doubt! All hail Stardock!
I don't think there's any difference between the opt-in and the public release of 5.4. I'd be willing to bet that nothing was updated..

While our country is not without its flaws, I still feel proud of it. It is timely that Sorcerer King will be releasing soon, as a couple hundred years ago (and some change), we fought off our own "Sorcerer King" ;) Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends and to the hard workers at Stardock! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and then get back to finishing my personal GOTY of 2015 (so far). :)
Agreed. The move from a unique 4X/RTS hybrid to another "Me too" MOBA still confounds me. Especially when it didn't do *that* much differently. Here's hoping they go back to SoaSE.
I am more excited for this release than I have been for ANY release in some time. Probably since Endless Legend and before that? Maybe Civilization 4. Bottom line: you have something special here. It may be a bit too niche for its own good, but I'm hoping that the Rogue-like-RPG-4X genre takes off ;) Well done! Hope to see the loose ends tied up and another great game from the brilliant minds at Stardock.

I admit that there is some concern. I'm not exactly sure why they do release it to weeks after their weeklong vacation. However, we'll see how it goes. I hope for the best!
Too early, too many bugs.
There IS a few left, but they're not insurmountable. Let's hope that they're all fixed in the next two weeks.
