Hi! I had a great experience the other night. I was manipulating the Peacekeepers and the Planet of the Apes, oh... I rename all the races btw .... if you know the genre you can figure out who is who in my game... , to fight eachother, keeping each alive as the other gained an edge, by supplying ships or tech or money. And boom! I went to talk to the Planet of the Apes and this is what they said. "Oh, we may not look cuddly, but we love you so much that if you were reall

Is the newest 1.03 patch good? I mean I am still back at 2. I do not want to upload new one till I finish off a couple games in mid of, and find a few older ones(saves) I did not submit due to the scoring exploit that was going on in the Metaverse and thought them too low to compete on the Metaverse(see my other posts). :)

LOL, I complained earlier, days ago in post about how it appears to make a huge score players, run the game on and on and on and on, artificially extending the game to achieve 20 and 30k scores and they have now nerfed that. Kudos! :D That exploit alone made me quit playing the game and submitting "low" scores(1000 to 2000pt scores) I had made. Skill folks, not exploiting game mechanics should determine score. ;)

Does playing an older patched version of the game lower your score on the Metaverse when you submit scores( I note the scores show version)? Any incites welcome Frogboy. I currently have not updated to 1.03 because I have a couple games of different sizes going and like the pre 1.03 right now. I am not an online junky and a game may take me a week of more to complete, especially the huge games. Worried constand updates, which is a great, will nerf scores for those of us not constantl

Foremost, you do not want 100% at start, maybe late game, but not at start. Around 60% is fine, especially now that they have finally nerfed the on and on and on and on extending game exploit to raise your score to rediculous levels by having morale high to get a huge population. ;)

Frogboy! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Especially the last statement of below Frogboy quote. The sooner the better, call me what you may, but I hate exploiters! The Metaverse Score system was meant to show skill, now running the game on and on and on and on and on and on. LOL "#16 by Avatar Frogboy - 4/30/2003 10:47:36 PM Popup - hard to say on the specifics. But the new scoring system has been modified a bit. You don't get nearly as man

Hey Duglis, Does moddifying these affect submitting to Metaverse, like the folks getting zero score, and the anom error thing when they try to submit? Also, does this mean folks could be modifying these files with extra bonuses not meant to be there, such as 200 or 300 on the research fix above instead of 100, and thus gaining a huge advantage over the AI? Just curious. ;)

Hi, Thanks for the post Norin, and RayChua(will get to ya email wise this weekend) I think I understand the scoring a bit better. :D Basically if you finish off the AIs before you build up max tech, economy, populatin.... then you end up with a poor score. Kind of weird way to score. Seems scoring favors dragging any game out beyond the time you need to win, until you have max in everything then knock off your opponents with culture/military and boom... big score. Does not really tak

Hi, Does playing an older version of game give a lower scoring model upon finishing the game than playing with the latest up to date patch? Is there a clearly listed web page to see the changes with each update? Noted high scores with the 1.03 at a low difficulty, might be the tougher AIs(in which case the answer would be "yes") but also came to mind that maybe there is a higher scoring system coded for playing at the highest patch version(latest patch) versus using an older version. Definitely have waypoints for ships, and be able to type in numeric values instead of HAVING to play the slider game(should of been common sense to have the latter in the game). Also, give us a faq on how scoring for the game takes place(a detailed faq on how the final score is determined, not vague meaningless info you have to guess at, but facts I can decide upon while I am playing). For example, I like taking a long time to build up and so on, is this killing my score and why. I hav

Have to run, so wont be able to reply today. On G map, I run into my first alien and Bam it has 14 planets to my 6. Is it possible to win when the aliens colonize waaay more planets than you do on the gigantic map? I was thinking probably not. Also I learned not to start in a corner, lol, was influenced to death and could reach no planets cause the AI nearby expanded in every direction whereas I could only expand in limited direction. I put out as many colony shi

What prevents someone from submitting the same game multiple times for repeated submitted high scores. I note several people have Gigantic games submitted in the same day with huge scores and killer AI. It is impossible to play two Gigantic games in one day imo without resubmitting. What prevents a player from just going back to a previous save(not the autosave) and continuing a game they already submitted for a score and then resubmitting for another score when that game finishes again? It is exactly the total of all your scores submitted, divided be two. WOW. So do not submit a score til you have 3000+ score and you will be rated as one of the top 30 players. And never submit anything but 2000 to 3000+ scores to look real good. Kinda sad. And if you look, that is exactly what people are doing. Does not make a plauseable accounting of skill. >:(

I think the whole kittn caboodle on one list is way too much. Have top list of scores for each galaxy size based on what players prefer to play. Also, only cout the top 4 scores for each player in each galaxy size list. This would be best to show the variety of skilled players and would help people who have less time to sit in front of the computer playing games all day. ~SDC~
