That is the most useful result this thread has produced, and the part that matters is what never cleared it. Rebooting both machines did not fix it. A fresh session did. Two things moved together though, the resolution change and the reconnect. Next time it appears, the cheap test is to disconnect and reconnect without touching the resolution at all. If that alone clears it, your workaround is one reconnect rather than a display change, and we learn the resolution was incidental.

Matching file versions rules out the last thing I could check from our documentation, and pulling 4.0.7.2 off the MultiplicityConfig.exe properties was the right way to get it, since the About screen stops at 4.07. Two measurements would be worth more than anything else you could send, and both come off what you already have in front of you. Where the band starts. If you can say where the clean section ends, in pixels or as a fraction of the image height, that turns "the lower
Not your imagination, and the reason is in how AI ships get built. They are not put together component by component the way you build yours. Each one comes from a blueprint that lists a few required parts, then a list of component types, then a filler type that soaks up whatever mass is left over. Most of the combat blueprints do ask for armor, shields and point defense in that middle list. The lopsidedness comes from the filler. On a big hull there is a lot of spare mass, so the fille
The most useful thing in this thread is buried ten replies back and it is poorboy2001's own finding. With both the Windows autohide and the Start11 autohide turned off, the line stopped for about ten days. joeshades, that is worth trying before anything else, because it costs nothing and it is the only change in here that has ever moved the symptom. Autohide showing up in a taskbar drawing problem is not a coincidence on our side either. The icon size, button width and height options
The dual boot detail is the most useful thing in your post and it points somewhere specific. Same machine, same build, same drivers, one install correct and one not, means the difference lives in stored settings rather than in the OS or the hardware. Everything else is held constant by your own setup. That puts you in a better position than most people who report this, because the working partition is a reference install. Compare the taskbar settings side by side rather than only look
That is a complete answer to the static question and it moves things. Present at the first established frame, persisting on a desktop that is not redrawing, and confined to a horizontal band with the top of the image clean. That rules out anything accumulating over a session, and it rules out the motion triggered case I was chasing. Your edition note is the thing to follow up before anything else. Our connection guidance is that both machines run the exact same version and bui
A Secondary's passcode lives on the Security tab of that Secondary, and you type it into the Primary in the Configure window when you add the connection. That is the pair that has to match. Worth getting one thing straight before you go looking, because they are set in different places and constantly get mixed up. The passcode is not the encryption key. Our documentation says it in those words. There is also a genuinely separate feature called a one-time code,
That settles the version question, and it settles it in the direction that matters. You were clean in 2024 on Multiplicity 3, and the artifacting is on 4, which you came to with the suite in 2025. The boundary is the 3 to 4 jump rather than a Windows or driver change you would otherwise be hunting for months. Two things before you spend another afternoon on it. Nothing in 4.05 or 4.07 touches display corruption; both are connection, hotkey, seamless display and memory work. The displa
Worth separating the two things that produce that prompt, because they need different fixes. A successful activation writes a license.sig file into the product's own folder under %ProgramData%\Stardock, so Start11 puts one in %ProgramData%\Stardock\Start11 and Fences keeps its own alongside it. Next time it asks, look in there before you reactivate. If the file has gone, something on the machine removed it and the only question left is what. If it is still sitting the
The stat you want is MovesCap, and the hull carries it before any engine is fitted. That is the basic movement number you are describing. It lives in the ship hull stat definitions, ShipHullStatDefs, as one entry per hull: Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Huge and Cargo. The baseline is the same for every size from Tiny through Huge, with Cargo sitting lower. Engines feed that same MovesCap stat as a flat bonus, so a bump on the hull stacks on top of whatever drive you fit rather tha
An activation prompt means the product genuinely is not activated. There is no half licensed state where some features quietly lapse, so what you are seeing is the activation state being wiped rather than anything wrong with your key or your account. Fences and Start11 both doing it is the useful clue. They share the same activation mechanism, and each product keeps its licence files in its own folder under %ProgramData%\Stardock. Something on the machine is removing them, which is why
Simplified Chinese has been in the interface since Multiplicity 3.6, which is where Spanish, French, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese Brazil and Japanese all landed together. The 4.01 changelog notes the supported languages are included, with community support for them on GitHub, so a string that reads badly is fixable rather than a dead end. The part a language list does not answer is typing. Multiplicity sends your keystrokes from the primary m
While the sync option is on, Start11 imports whatever the Windows menu has pinned each time you sign in. Removing a tile inside Start11 does not unpin it on the Windows side, so anything still pinned there arrives again on the next boot. Order matters when you try that setting. Turn the sync off, sign out and back in, and clear the three tiles after that. On the Windows 11 and Windows App styles the same option carries a "(sign out required)" note, so give it a sign in cycle to take e
That grey almost always means the game has not completed its online sign-in, and it is not something a reinstall can touch. The Multiplayer button is gated on sign-in state rather than on installed files, so uninstalling and reinstalling leaves it exactly where it was. There is no separate account login to go hunting for. The game signs itself in when it starts, using your Steam session, or your Epic one depending on where you bought it. Hover the Multiplayer button before you t
Not there today, but there is a partial already in the product. Right-click any window in the switcher and the menu has "Close window", with Terminate process below it for anything wedged. Slower than a middle-click, faster than hunting the X.
Not a coincidence. Win + Space is Fences Peek's default hotkey and has been since Peek shipped. The Fences 4 Beta 1 changelog reads "Fences Peek enabled by default with hotkey Windows key + space". Your edit had it right. The input language part is a known collision and we handle it conditionally. Changelog 6.2.0.1 added "detection for multiple keyboard layouts, so that the default Peek hotkey (WinKey+Space) does not override Windows switch-keyboard hotkey". With one layout installed,
One thing about that transparency test. Our description of "Blur the wallpaper under the taskbar" says it is best used with the transparency effect on, so turning Windows transparency off and then looking for blur does not tell you much. Worth rerunning with transparency back on so the result means something. On previous versions, there is no public archive of older Start11 builds I can point you at. A rollback is not something you can self-serve here.
Pricing goes through sales. The operational half you are worried about is already settled, which should make that conversation a lot shorter. On key ownership, a rollout your size would be a single key with multiple activations, and the key belongs to the account it is activated under rather than to a person. The thing to get right on day one is the email address, because the first activation ties the key to that address permanently. Use a generic one, [email protected]
The file copy was right, it just needs one more step at the other end. Dropping a backup into the folder does not apply it. Fences only picks it up when you restore it from the configuration app, which is why the target machine looked unchanged. On that machine, right-click an empty part of the desktop and choose "Configure Fences". On Windows 11 you may need "Show more options" first. Then look for "Restore a backup", or "Restore Snapshot" under Layout features and Snapshots
Your manual toggle working is the useful detail, and it narrows this further than my last reply allowed for. If the image applies correctly with enhancement off once you trigger it, the drawing path is fine and enhancement is not a requirement. What is failing is the apply at startup on that path, which is a smaller and more specific thing. That also argues against a purge. The image reapplies on demand, so your stored setting is intact, and resetting stored settings is most of what a
You read it right. The 2.8 changelog does carry "Fix for Start button when Enhanced Taskbar is not enabled", so that path was worked on in this release. What you are hitting is a case that survived the fix rather than something nobody looked at. Worth confirming the build first. 2.8 shipped as UI version 2.8 with file version 2.8.0.2. On your last point, the start button image is not independent of the taskbar work on Windows 11. Our own compatibility switch treats them as one
There is no include entry on that menu, but the exclusion list itself is editable from a different screen. Click the settings cog on the switcher and pick "Manage exclusions and grouping". The app you excluded should be listed in there. That screen is worth knowing about generally. When a window goes missing from the switcher with no obvious cause, an accidental entry in that list turns out to be the reason more often than a bug does.
Yes, that is what that toggle is meant to do. "Replace Alt Tab key combination" is the switch that hands Alt+Tab to AltTabby instead of Windows, so with it off you get the stock Windows switcher and no Carousel, in a game or out of one. Leave it on. That also lines up with what you are seeing in game. The switcher you get on the first press is the Windows one, so the replacement is not taking hold while the game has focus. Nothing is set wrong on your end. Your update to 0.81
On a shrouded world, the outward push to your friend's planets is Propagate Mode specifically. Only one shroud mode runs on a planet at a time, so a world set to Exploitation or Summoning is doing its job without projecting at his. Propagate also has tunable radius, speed and strength, so you can keep it running and pull the radius in rather than choosing between spreading corruption and not developing at all. The Planetary Corruption window lists your corrupted planets with the
That screenshot settles the open question from earlier in the thread. It is Start11's own update check, not Object Desktop Manager, so the focus grab lives in the product's own updater and ODM can be dropped from the picture. The prompt you just caught will be today's 2.8 release. Installing it stops the prompting for a while, but it will not change what you reported. The 2.8 changelog is Win11 26H2 taskbar position handling, vertical taskbars on secondary displays, blank Edge icons i
