I respect that decision, and I obviously took advantage of it, but I just feel on principle that more games should offer that option. If it needs to be a special deal, make it a lower price for the initial founders, and make it $109 or $119 later. I view the EA phase as worthwhile in itself.

I wish Stardock would keep the $99 buy everything including the future at once option beyond pre-orders. In this age of nickel-and-diming DLC (looking at you, Netherrealm), it's a refreshingly honest change-of-pace. To me, it's the most ethical way of doing things- just give one price for the game, whatever it is.
Replayability - one cheap way to bring it in is to keep adding events/loot/monsters/XML-type stuff in a steady post-release trickle. Another thing I'd like to see, though this is expansion material to me if this game gets one- I'd like to see you guys copy of the bonus strucutres from AOW3. Have dungeons where clearing them will give bonuses to specific troops formed in the nearest city to that dungeon. Like a haunted woods might give +attack to arch
This bug appears in all Stardock games since GalCiv2 I believe. It's not just GalCiv3. I've had it in SK and LH.
GOG would be the most likely destination in such a scenario. They'd be the only ones trusted if Valve went evil. The AAA publishers that feel like they require DRM would likely retreat to their own versions of Steamwork such as Origin. I'm 99% certain Stardock will go down that same route, and have failsafes planned.
I don't think random screws of the player would be fun. The AI should be trying harder to screw the player on purpose.
I'm unsure if this game is a month away from an acceptable release. It seems like SK is closer to being finished than GalCiv3 at this point. I'm not saying at all that this game is bad- the core is solid, but I really feel like SK should be the game coming out May 14th, and GalCiv3 should have been the one pushed back to summer. Core features wise, I think it's ready- but it's a bit too rough around the edges. &
Same with the crackly sound, dislike it. Performance wise- game seems to run more sluggishly than the previous beta. Unsure why, maybe the optimization changes?
It's a shame the game is only getting serious A.I development for a month.I suppose great A.I does not improve sales very much.
The AI will get tons of work post-release, and the AI had work before release. Stardock AI is consider one of their strong points- the GalCiv II AI ended up really good for the most part.
The Doomsday counter in its current form does not put any time pressure on me- I feel like I have all day, and always have since Beta 1. It needs to go up pretty rapidly, or the AI needs to target shards a lot more effectively.
Idea, though may not be doable. Terraforming tech more expensive, but auto-unlocks the tiles? Might need to be a more variable tech cost based on size of empire than other techs.
Only way it will work is if Valve is willing to make things exclusive to it, which they won't.
This is something that is common across every Stardock game I've played on Steam, and I'm pretty sure it's been a problem as far back as GalCiv2.
This has been an issue with previous Stardock games as well, particularly the Elemental series, but this is the first time I've seen it with GalCiv3. You close the program, the executable does not close, Steam records it as gametime and shows you as playing it for hours and hours. Seems to occur more after longer play sessions.
I sent info. However, this condition was solved by starting a new game. It was not a repeatable bug.
started game, realized I picked wrong size galaxy- immediately went to main screen to start new game with bigger galaxy. Started that game, got a black screen for the map and minimap, though the UI was normal.
Scoundrel is busted I think, unless it's supposed to work some other way.
Whenever certain popups happen, such as exit game, there is a garbling of the screen for a second. I'm thinking this may be an intended effect, but it makes me think my laptop's screen is acting funny for a bit with static, so it's something I'd like to see removed. Not listing as a bug because I think it's intentional (but it is an annoying graphical effect)
Asking this because there is one thing I really do want for this game if the pilots have a real role to play, and it's not gameplay-related at all. What I want is for Stardock/BonusXP to spend the money on getting high-quality voice actor/actress talent for the game. By High Quality I don't mean break the bank for Tara Strong, but maybe get VA's the Calibre of Skullgirls, I do know Texas is one of the hubs for Voice Talent, so it should be doable. &n
Some ideas: A tree that gives extra spell books for more spells. Ability to convert normal weapons into magical ones Genocide- be able to wipe one type of monster off the face of the earth entirely. This should cost mana based on strength of monster Quick cast- be able to do a spell , unit still gets to take its turn Polymorph- transform one of yours or one of the enemy's unit into something random
beat the game, got a message saying "You're a cheater" at the end of the win screen listing your stats. I didn't use any cheats, what triggered this?
Agreed on the enchanting being too far back. My suggestion: make all enchants cost a bit of mana and give it earlier. Maybe lock the strongest enchants (like +mana) to a skill that's undervalued. Logistics does need to make more sense as well. I do like that high-level towns provide it now. There is also an issue with running out of things to build in a town too early.
I agree, allowing play as minors , alongside expanding content involving minors, would be a great DLC or expansion. The other area of focus I can see is units and heroes- need more of those, a lot more. Another good DLC idea would be loot and quest pack DLCs like you did with LH. This game should get one of those per year until you start work on your next fantasy TBS in 2019 or so.
That is identical to what my problem is, though I don't know what the trigger is. What class were you playing? Starting to think the trigger might be going into negative logistics.
Can Verify same thing happened to me.
