I agree that there should be some way to enforce border control, but it should require active participation by the player. The more I think aboout it, the sillier the use of influence in space is. For sure, if you have one planet in a huge system, all of which is controlled by someone else, that should have some effect. But having Thalans decide to become Yor? It just doesn't seem logical. Think about how long cultural minorities on Earth have endured.

I'll add my vote in support. This is a solid idea, easily implemented. Perhaps there are other things a class 0 planet could do? Serve as a sensor outpost, hold a shipyard that can repair fleets? At any rate, it's silly to have them do nothing for anyone.

Sorry if this first one was mentioned before, but searching for 'command' brought up 20 pages of posts. Command is supposed to allow your unit to force a unit to take a turn immediately, but what it's done for me is to allow the casting unit unlimited turns. This is a nice way to cheese out a victory over a powerful opponent, but obviously not working as intended. Berserk also makes the unit take another turn immediately, but then they seem to go out of circu

I second the complaint about his slow movement. He should be 4. Stalkers/skaths are 5, aren't they? He's useless in a horseback party. Also, his attack was 26 when I fought him, but 17 when he joined me. New question, has anyone used his lightning run ability? I couldn't make it work. I had him lined up along a line of three units, and it told me it had to be cast on an empty tile, but when I did that it said 'spell mu

Who wants more staves to drop? They are all terrible. They need to come with a built in block bonus to be worth anything. I get lots of those useless clubs, and a fair number of staves. Almost never a ranged weapon (at least not anything worthwhile), and yes, more swords and daggers than other weapons, but blunt and axes too. Decent spears turn up reasonably often.

I've never gotten a hero above level 13 or 14 in any game. You see all these cool items for high level heroes, but by the time you can use any of them, the game is almost over, or you just never get there. And #7, oh god yes!
Tactical battles problem1: I'm fighting 3 spider-things. Spider 1 successfully webs one of my units. Spider 2 attempts to web the same, already webbed unit. Spider 3 does the same. Solution: check if target is already affected by the upcoming action. (yes, I understand not wanting to slow down things by adding checks, but this is a pretty big deal -- seeing spider after spider try t

There are a few things that have bothered me throughout the Elemental series, and it would be nice if they were fixed: In your city's build queue, it is very difficult to reorder production. If you suddenly discover a great place to send a pioneer, but your city has 10 items in line, it is nearly impossible to move the pioneer up to the front. The drag and drop is finicky and cumbersome, and will only work within each 'page'. What I mean by this is that t

Looked around and no-one seems to have mentioned these: I hired a hero and gave him a bow. Now, when he attacks, most of the time there is no animation, and after about 15 seconds the attack resolves (ie, you see damage/dodge). It's not 100% of the time, maybe 80. I had just founded my third city, went into the build menu, and when I came out, all the overlays except the map would not appear (city, army, etc.) The menu button at top left also disappeared.

I'm sure somebody has mentioned this before, but a quick search for 'slider' doesn't bring up anything. I recently got the economic boom, and decided to adjust my focus to as much research as I could afford. Turns out, I could put 90% there and was forced to keep 10% in social production. When the boom ended, I was way in the red and had to readjust. I didn't need any ships,
I've also noticed that when I go to war with another race, all of my trade routes shut down due to being "too dangerous", even if they went nowhere near hostile territory.
I haven't seen the persistent route bug. Are you sure your routes that go away instantly aren't to worlds owned by your new enemy? Those will disappear immediately. Usually, destroying 3-4 freighters on the same route will kill it. I've never done much commerce raiding of the enemy, but the same rul

I usually see the Korx get wiped out by mid-game, or be restricted to a very small area. I'm doing pretty well as the Korx myself, but I took the full trade bonus with Mercantile government. I think that's 'in character'. Maybe the next game, the AI will do better with those picks.

How can you notice a bug, when you don't even know what we're talking about? Read the thread! I'm glad this is getting fixed. I had thought it was intentional, to keep research at about the same pace. I always play with research at very slow, and immense maps. This meant that eventually, you'd get a ton of labs going, and research would be down at 1-2 turns for the easy stuff, and maybe 10 for the top. Now it seems that I'm usually stuck with 5-6 turns for the simplest things. I

The ascension does not generate enough hate, as someone said. It should either be a constant -3 (instead of -2), or it should work something like Master of Magic, where everyone will gang up on you and desperately try to stop you from winning. Right now, the Korath are at about 120 turns to victory, which is hardly anything. I think they've found three of the crystals. Only 2 out of 9 races are at war with them. Maybe each ascension base should carry a -2?

I love the Iconians, too. Due to all their unique buildings, they are one of the few races who can make a PQ 5 valuable. I enjoy playing them, it's just frustrating being hamstrung by a lot of their points being placed in a useless bonus that doesn't fit their history. Drop the espionage, and give them something else, or just give them a few more optional points.
There are two pirate events, a "regular" one and a "mega" one. You might have gotten the former, which wouldn't be very challenging. I certainly hope that's what happened, the whining about mega events being "too hard" drives me up the wall.
I'm not sure, but I thought the 'regular' pirate event was the one where they are just attacking one system. It's similar to the 'prison break' event. I think this was the mega version.

I just got the pirates for the first time in a TA game, and they were total cream puffs. At a time when I was running medium ships with 30 beam/50 shield, they show up with frigates that have 4 missile/0 defense. I know a lot of people complained about how hard they were, but this was no challenge at all. I never even took one point of damage. It just clogged the processor until I and the AIs could obliterate their thousands of useless ships. Please buff them back u
