Did anyone ever find the files to download for this?? I've heard it's one of the best tuts out there. Boofus
Quoting boofus, reply 2 Thanks that does appear to be the pro version Simply because there is no longer a "Pro" or "Professional" version. I think the last pro version, was SKS 5. They were "merged" and the latest version of SKS is 10.01. <a href="h
Thanks that does appear to be the pro version
Just wondering as there seems to be no interest here and less on Stardock's web site. Would like to have Skin Studio PROFESSIONAL, but damned if I can find it. Thanks
WTH happened to this product??
I'm trying to learning skinning using vary early versions of WB/SS. In particular, skins with animated borders. I'm using the older stuff since I'm still on XP, and HATE what MS did to the Windows GUI since windows 8. Thanks
Tried to search JUST this forum but couldn't figure out how to do it. So, forgive me if this is already answered. The latest version will not skin MS Edge. Will it be skinned in the future? Also any other programs that WB currently "misses" on Win 10?? Thank god, you guys are continuing to support this product. It's an absolute ESSENTIAL piece of software since MS went to the
Most appreciated, Lightstar. I think I do have SS7; I seem to remember it showing up in the current Object Desktop Manager B
Is there a better place to post about my original issue where I might get some help?? I need a real SkinStuio expert, I'd suspect. Anyone??
I wonder if it's even POSSIBLE to animate caption and/or window borders with the newest W Blinds/Skin Studio. Most animations I've seen are concerned with the windows start menu.
Any experts on here that would maybe help me update a 10+ year old skin (with animated title bar) so that it will work with the current version?? I've started playing with it, but besides the anim not animating, when the skin is in use no explorer windows (folders) will open. Strange?? Thanks
OK, thank you...... Not quite so disgusted anymore. [e digicons]#:([/e] I did not know they would keep the activation servers "open" for me I my account was not current. Boofus
Has SD changed this in the last year or so?? I used to be able back up my executables and in then re-load them without having to validate on their damn server. I've been sending them a renewal fee for over 10 years; while not really using the products all that much. I had decided that this would be my last year since there t not enough NEW stuff that I need and/or want.
Daiwa Thank you for the info. Now that I know the actual name I can probably find it. I have almost every file I've ever gotten since the good all days. I have over 9TB of storage and an Access database so I can find files very quickly. If I can't find it I'll PM you. Thanks. Boofus
I remember the good old days too...... What I miss the most were those skins (around the year 2000) that had an animated border on the whichever window was active on the screen. Animation "froze" when the window became inactive. AFAIK, this cannot be done in the current version of WB. The old skins are STILL available for DL here (you have to search for them), but of course they are pretty much worthless with the new WB.
I understand what both of you say...... I'm not expecting either Stardock or the original author to update the skin for me; and I never did expect that level of service. I'm fairly confident the original author is not even an active skinner anymore. But, I am distressed that Stardock doesn't even provide any documentation for their product. If I had good docs, I could/would up the skin myself (or my own personal use onl
My apologies for that mistake. It can cause confusion when two blinds have the same name. I am not sure this is the case, Xaphire uses animation for the titlebar and works fine using Windowblinds 8.
Yes, there are at least a few fairly current skins that use animation in the title bar and the start menu. It's just that it appears they've changed the way the anim now works, rendering older skins "
Vampothika is the author of this blind and is active of the forums. Perhaps you could PM her and find out if she can help .
There is a MUCH older "toxic" (from the early 2000's); that's the one I'm interested in. The skinner was "morphh". Thanks. Boo
I have the original files for this tutorial, I've emailed Kitty to see what she wants done with them.
Any luck with getting the files?? Boo
I recently bought a Win 8 Ultrabook. Because the screen is so small, I'd like to use an older (simpler) skin; I like one called "Toxic" from the early days of WB. It needs updating; I think I can do somet of it, but I'm totally lost on the animated part. It appears to me, that SD changed all the anim stuff from the earlier version. For ex, there used to be an anim.dll, but I don't think it's used anymore. If anyon
Thanks for the help, guys.... Boo
Is it me being picky or is it sort of "strange" that a product as mature as WindowBlinds wouldn't have a comprehensive reference manual available?? I mean, it's been almost 15 years, right?? [e digicons]:(O[/e] Boo
Looking for SkinStudio reference, UIS+ and UIS 2 reference, scripting reference, etc Anything that is newer than about 2002..... Which is about all I've found so far. Seeking to learn about animating skins and also scripting; for example what's in a .animation file?? My purpose here is to learn about the advanced features of skinning, like animation, plugins, etc.
Just for my info..... How many activations do you get before it craps out?? B F
