I like to get the trading and the tech tree finished as quickly as possible so I can lower the research slider to 0% and concentrate on developing my military and social aspects. My style of gaming tends to be a "builder" as I like to build up everything before attacking but in all honestly the higher scores I've acquired have come from being a conquestor from the start (since the acquired techs add in to score as mentioned above). I also am a builder. At the hardest levels the AI races build up their military much quicker, and want to expand their territory much earlier in the game. Difficulty and population are two of the biggest contributors to a high score. You get a higher score on larger maps because you can achieve a much higher population. Also with a higher no. of planets you can research much more effectively and achieve a higher research score. You can get many more helpfull tidbits if you join the B. C. Space Orcas. Not to sound like a broken record but a lot of us have posted concerning the incomplete recalc. We have not received an answer as to when you might complete it or even an acknowledgement that you have heard us. The 1.1 beta 1 and 2 were not recalced. The top empires' scores will drop substantially when they finish the recalc as their top players all have a lot of 1.1 beta scores that were not recalced. All that is needed is a recalc of the 1.1 betas that were not recalced. This would put everyone on a level playing field. The new scoring system works very well. It rewards playing at the higher levels and also rewards you for maxing out all areas in a shorter period of time. This is a great improvement over the mega scores that were posted for running games out 20-40 years. Complete the recalc and I am sure everyone will be happier. Bye for now TBAY.

Go to the Metaverse. Click on the more button under Empires. Look for The B. C. Space Orcas. We are in about 20th place. Click on the empire. Once in the page look on the left side for the join empire button. The rest is self explanitory. If you join right away I will make you a senator. What fun is there in joining an empire that already has hundreds of members and is allready near the top. I think it would be a lot more fun to start as a senator and help build an empire from the beginning. I left the number one empire to form my own. I think you should make the metaverse a higher priority then it is now. I dont think you realize that the metaverse is a major factor in keeping people interested in your game. The recalc has not been finished. The betas were not recalculated. Now we are told that games that took us anywhere from 3 days to a week to play are not going to count on our meteverse total as they were falsely labelled as cheats. Each time something like this happens you lose more and more interest in the metevers

There is a bug in v1.2 Beta 1 where data is not being correctly loaded from save games, causing a condition that sets the cheater flag. If you saved a game that you loaded, the cheater flag would then be saved in the save game, ruining it for the metaverse. However, if you never have to save and reload, your game should still be submissable. I just found out today that games with the cheater flag do not count towards your overall score, so you don't n

The key at the higher levels is diplomacy. Trade, Trade, Trade then Trade some more!!!!! Also start the game with 20-30 pt boost in diplomacy. The AI will be willing to trade a lot more with you. This will help. Bye For now.
