OH rite ok. Well ive still not figured out whats wrong with my planets and systems. Zyxpsilon - I only had my custom civs in the game when I ran it. Krios appeared fine. I played as Eleria and it was a default system but for some weird reason the homeworld Draconis was quality 18 instead of 9. The other races appeared to have similar problems.

Hmm I fot that it broke the game if you assigned a barren/oceanic/toxic/etc tag to a planet in your home system?
Hi guys. Hopefully ill get a reply to this post. :D Ive recently added custom home worlds/systems to my custom races and 4 out of the 5 dont display in game which is really strange. I have the Kriosan Combine, the Elerian Matriarchy, the Selkath Union, the Draconian Clanhold, and the Asgard Star Empire. The system that ive created for the Kriosan Combine works and displays correctly - I used the Coruscant planet for it. Ive put in the following in the Cust
Um I believe Carielf posted an interim fix on the forums here as a 1.8G patch. [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=167594"]CariElf's Thread[/link] I had the same problem and was directed to this...
Well they would have a lot to live up to tho. SMAC is the best game ever.
Ok. I said this in the SMAC mod thread but I decided to post it here so it gets attention. Id really like Stardock to obtain the rights to SMAC. At least the engine and such like in any case. I believe the rights to the engine belong to Big Huge Games and the name belongs to Firaxis. In any case Stardock would be a brilliant company to do a sequel. What you guys think?
Wow. SMAC was the best game ever. Seriously. Brilliant - we so need a sequel. Brad - fancy buying the rights? LOL. Im really lookin forward to this mod - is there anyway to animate the leaderheads? My ideas for a flight from Chiron are that any flight should occur before the destruction of the first Faction (the Gaians I think) but after the creation of the new SMAX factions in Canon. Basically I think that the Caretakers (the ones wanting to prevent the
I don't believe the game reas systems from customplanets.xml for Minors, only Majors. So minor home systems can't be customized.
I really hope you are wrong mate. No offense. Becuase it completely sucks that the Carinoids live on Carinoids and orbit Carinoids. STUPID! You can change the Star name and colonised planets names (but for some weird reason not uncolonised worlds?) in game even for minors so i dont see why you cant
The reason I wanted the Federation style ships is for two reasons. The first being they fit in quite well with the "look" of the ships in GC2. The second being due to the backstory of the Custom Race I have designed - they are a race of humans who fled Earth in an alternate reality when it was destroyed by the Dread Legion; they come to this reality and now actually inhabit the home planet of a recently (within the last 100 years) dead race who were highly advanced in the fields of
Yeh thats it. How do i fix it? Its strange cos my graphics card is only a little over a year old...
I have a question about Minor Races myself. Maybe you can help me Zyxpsilon... I want to give the Minors their own unique systems and alter some of the majors home systems a bit as well. Any time I do so (moving the files into a Mod folder and changing tham as I wished) they wont show up in game - and yes I did select the mod in the game. So any ideas?
Are you talking about the Federation Ship Pack from Dystopic? If so, there is a readme file with instructions (which also specifies that 'KHSM for DA' is required). If you want to be able to use them with races other than Terran, it might work if you change all the S0_ prefixes to S99_
Thank you. First time anyones helped me on this forum. :-)
Yes people do anws
Jeez. Does no one ever help anyone on these forums?
Ok I downloaded the Federation Ship Styles to my computer for a custom faction I have that I like to play (and am writing a story about). Problem is im not quite sure how to actually use them in game... Also I use DA - do I still need to put Kryo's Hull Mod to use the Federation Ship Styles?
Well the way the invasion model works is that when you invade a planet regardless of your alignment pretty much all of the planets population is wiped out and the planet is resettled as a new colony by your own species. Which is kind of a kick in the pants for the Drengin plans for galactic domination isnt it? It also makes the subject of "Liberating" a planet a moot point...
Make better user manuals.
I have to say this is the only one that Stardock falls down on. No offense to you guys but I read manuals for GC, GC2, and Political Machine once and never read them again cos frankly they r useless. This is for several reasons. The first being that the manuals have never covered everything thats actually in the game; and they dont really help you learn. The second being that Stardock is such
There is a GalCiv2 Manual pdf file in your Dark Avatar folder on your computer mate.
such a good job that people all over England thought that they were really under attack by Martians. it was read here in the USA and some people believed it so good. they killed themselves. even tho there disclaimers during each commercials. the next day the radio station had to apologize for the story and then shut down for ever.
Ahem. Read this. <b
Hi guys. Im going to start writing an AAR/story in novel style for my own Custom Race - the Kriosan Combine in which I will tell the story of DL and DA from the eyes of the militaristic Combine (involving them of course). The people of Krios are actually humans who like the Thalans came to our universe from an alternate reality where Earth and Humanity was wiped out by the Dread Lords and their Knights. I cant however simply leap into the story without telling how they came
Overall the movie was good; I just found a bit of the premise a bit dodgy. I heard about the movie some time before it was begun filming and I feared for it; the previous attempts at War of the Worlds movies (in the 60s) were awful; simply exercises in telling the world how brilliant the wonderful US of A is. I feared for the new one - I didnt want it to ruin the WotW story by being entirely focus on the US and the great struggle it puts up against the "evil alien invaders" - so whe
God do none of you know what War of the Worlds is? It was a book originally written by the one and only H. G. Wells. In it said that Mars was inhabited by a highly advanced subterranean race called the Martians funnily enough; for centuries they watched Earths development and became aware of its vast natural resources. Mars' own resources were dwindling and its industry was stalling; thus in the year 1900 Mars launched an invasion of earth; sending an armada of cylinder lik
Sword of the Stars is in 3d and not all of the races use Star Lanes to travel between stars (in fact i think only the Humans do) - the rest r pretty much free roaming. Thus the 3rd map is relevant - but its a nightmare playing on. Having to adjust the camera all the time to figure out where you are and what ships you selected and where you are going. Its a pain - its the reason i dont like Sword of the Stars.

I think it would be better to go the way that SMAC and Civ 4 went - social engineering as opposed to set Governments. And have the AI set to prefer certain combinations of Social Engineering - along the lines of Government, Society, Economy, Culture, Leaning. For example the Drengin would like Imperialist, Slavery, Planned, Patriotic, Pure Evil; and the Terran Alliance would like Democrat, Universal Suffrage, Free Market, Freedom Loving, Neutral to Chaotic Good.
