Wulfer
If I see one more carrier thread, I think I will scream. The carrier idea is dead, dead, dead. Frogboy said that it would ruin the game mechanics. So please, let this one die. Much thanks!
Dear Frogboy, I'm a lousy artist but see with your contest the following... Galactic Civilizations II die-cast metal starship from the game. Does that mean there might be something available to the general public later on? Wulfer has WoW bronze figures, EQ plastic figures and perhaps a die-cast metal GC2 starship?
From what I have seen the AIs are slow to research Xeno Ethics but evenually, they will. However, the AIs are very slow to research the techs after Xeno Ethics which give them access to the special good/evil/neutral planet buildings. If I'm not mistaken, the neutral AIs are usually 1st to research Xeno Ethics since it gives them access to all of the planet tiles.
I have to agree with Random50. Conquests are pretty boring during the second "half" of the conquest because you already know you are going to win. The amount of time to kill off your remaining "friends" is time that I'd rather spend on another game whether it be GC2, CivIV or WoW. Yes, I still play WoW and CivIV. I usually do political wins which nightboy42 points out is easy but by the time I win via political, I'm usually dominating already.
Beta-2A version. Happened 2 times during my last game. Purposely didn't try to repeat it after the 2nd time. It's as follows: I attacked a planet with a troop transport in the attacking fleet because of its superiority over the opponent. What happened though is the troop transport attacked the ground 1st. After I failed invasion, I then killed off the planet's fleet with my fleet. The 2nd time, the same senario but different op
I'm getting a CTD at the same turn each time, it seems. I'm leaving a short message on the 2nd CTD, then one long debug message. I've had 5 or 6 CTD at /near the same end of turn. Debug Message: Updating ZOC. Debug Message: Random Event: End Debug Message: Year: 2225. Altarian Republic traded Basic Miniaturization to the Torian Confederation in exchange for Advanced Computing Debug Message: ForeignRelationsWnd: Cannot find

I"m having the same issue with the SDCzip missing message. Is there any place to go to get a detailed instructions on how to create exception reports?
I probably shouldn't even respond to your post, however, here it goes. You are nothing but a propagandist, spewing out lies and half-truths. Frogboy & crew, forget this guy, we all know about what you have done!
I have only 2 comments. Check the ram and check the CPU temperature. Borderline high CPU temps can cause random constant errors as well as bad ram. Good Luck in fixing the problem because the game is just too good to not be able to play it.
Congrats Frogboy and crew. I'm happy that you guys are seeing the fruits of your labor this time around! It's a well deserved change! The game rocks so much that I'm sure if I could transition back to GC1.
Aye, same here, my last Maso game just showed up as normal
It sounds like you need to up the difficulty setting
My last game I played at Maso level on a large galaxy and all 9 majors. Needless to say, Frogboy is correct, the AI is alot better than in GC1. I played for 5 nights after work to complete. I used the same stategy has in GC1 which is too stay out of combat as much as possible and be diplomatically superior (started with 50 diplomacy). I was able to trade techs for reasonable costs with high diplomacy. This is one of the keys to playing the high
Congrats to the entire team. I'm a paying member of Gamespot and 9.0 is truely a impressive score. I concur that the no multiplayer is one of the thing that hurt the overall score.
A. I'll never play online or on a lan. Enhanced AI then enhanced features.
hahaha, aye Shogun
I was wondering if there are any financial prospects for creating a figurine or statue, perhaps of one of the robots ... or even better, a model of a one of the GC ships...something. I've had the Everquest high elf princess donning the top of my CD storage case for a number of years now. It's about time that she was joined by/moved by something GC. I think this was discussed months ago but I didn't find it nor any comments about the poss
Another excellent playthrough! A comment was made that the high shield defense supplied... (44 shields = 6 against rail guns still not too bad). I was wondering if that was a standard ratio or if a researched tech allowing shields to effective against mass drivers and/or missles to some percentage of the shields?
Mostly playing Civ4. I'm kind of a wuss though, I only play prince level so far. The Civ4 game of the month is monarch..eekk. I have taken a peek at the tutorials and a few of the MP3s in GC2. I am hoping that Frogboy posts another one of his games with analysis. If not, there are less than 72 hours until release. I guess I could do that standing on my head...to coin a phrase.
Good, I guess I'll be ready to go after work. Hopefully, I will not have to stay over because I'm seriously excited about the release. I found myself clicking around the music folder yesterday and listened to a couple of the MP3s. The 1st one I chose was the Von Zipper alliance02, I think it was named. Anyway, it bought back great memories from the past in GC1. It was the music that you heard when you were good alignment and not a war. That was usually the time I was beginning to dominate
I've never thought to play SW:EAW. However, I've played computer games for about 2 decades now and the only 2 companies that I would pre-order a game from are Stardock and Blizzard. Otherwise, I'll wait for the reviews. I've played hundreds of random galaxy GC1 games for years. However, I haven't played any of the beta of GC2. But that hasn't stopped me from pre-ordering GC2 because I saw the free *huge* updates for GC1 for a year. GC2 will
Personally, I like the devaluing of scores over time. That said, I wouldn't mind a lower level of devaluation. The people who play and submit to the metaverse go up. The ones that stop playing/submitting go down. If you don't like the way the metaverse is scored, don't submit scores. On second thought, lets do away with the metaverse, I will get tired of looking at Technian or Weyrleader's arse for the next 3 years! <img src="smiles/Laugh.gi
Multiplayer is totally unneeded in the base game. The random single player games have tons of replay value. I played GC1, off and on, all the way through most of 2005. Now that is what I call replay value. I love TBS games but never cared to play a TBS multiplayer game. For me, the only game that compares to the replay value of GC1 are Civ3 & 4 (never played 1 or 2). Therefore, I refute your statement that MP is the most important fe
