When an app on my taskbar flashes (whatever that's called), it's currently a very red color, as if there's a problem or warning. I can't find a setting in the Start11 settings to change this color. Can you please let me know how to change it, and if not, can we please have the option to change it? I think we can agree that a "red alert" warning color is not appropriate for the color of the taskbar flashing. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/68/22/6822046/82

This morning I started my computer only to find my start menu is has giant, jumbo sized icons. See screenshot below: https://i.imgur.com/MWHC9JL.jpg I restarted my computer, but it didn't change. I upgraded to Start11 version 1.3, and it still hasn't changed. My icons are set to "medium", and the size doesn't change when I change them to small and then back to medium. They're essentially 4x larger. These

What a disaster. When my computer rebooted after upgrading to Windows 11 22h2, my taskbar was completely messed up and unusable--no start menu, no system tray. Please see this image: https://imgur.com/a/lOxPdk9 I couldn't even open the start menu using the keyboard button. I tried disabling functions of Start11 in the settings, but nothing would fix it. I had to find out the keyboard shortcut to open Windows settings (win-i) just to be able to uninstall Start11 so I could use

I absolutely agree this behavior needs to be fixed. The whole purpose of ungrouped icons is so that they behave like Win10 and allow individual control. Defaulting to "close all" means it's just behaving like Windows 11 and not treating them properly. I used to use the individual close option all the time.

Is there any chance we can have the option of default, grouped applications, but ungrouped folders? For me Windows 11's taskbar is fine in the way the applications behave, but not folders. When I have 3 folders open, they're all hidden under a single grouped icon. My ideal taskbar is one where the application icons don't expand, but folders do, so that I can identify and select the one I need each time. Is there any chance we can have this option?

1) I'm not having this problem. 2) I have previously tried all the "Layout auto-adjust" options and they all have the same problem. 3) No, just Windows' built-in security. 4) 1909, 18363.778 5) My laptop is like most laptops with a discreet GPU. It has Intel's integrated GPU and Nvidia's mx150.

I don't have any of those programs installed, or any program that's supposed to augment multi-monitors. Fences used to work perfectly with my exact same setup, same programs, everything, and now it doesn't. My issue is that my desktop will randomly freeze/crash every once in a while. It's a simple as that. And all of Explorer (desktop, taskbar, start menu, windows) will be frozen for a few minutes. Sometimes this freeze will result in a crash loop, where Explorer w

There are many posts from users who are having problems with Fences in Windows 10. For each of these posts, there are probably 1000 regular users who didn’t think of coming to these forums, and who just disabled/uninstalled Fences out of frustration. These problems need to be actually fixed; we shouldn’t just be told to “do a purge,” “do a purge” each time. As I said in another post, I di

I just wanted to update that although I said Fences was working now, it still has the the same problem, but it happens less frequently, and doesn't go into a crash loop like before. Every once in a while my desktop will freeze and I have to wait for maybe 5 minutes until it comes back. It is usually triggered by disconnecting my external monitor. I have switched the "Screen resolution changes" setting to every different option and Fences still freezes the same way. BTW those other opt

Edit: I have updated in my post below that it still has problems and it isn't solved, as I previously mentioned here. Thank you basj and sdRohan for your support. I followed the instructions to create a new Admin account, I reinstalled Fences under that account, I did a bunch of tests and everything was working. I logged back into my main account and things were still working, even after rebooting and reconnecting and

I was due for a reformat of my computer, so instead of purging Fences I did a clean install of Windows, with no settings or files kept. I reinstalled Fences, and it's even worse than before. It's crashing Windows Explorer, and putting it into a crash loop. Explorer keeps starting up again and crashing repeatedly. I see that glynnpg above is having the same issue. This is a completely fresh install of Windows on my HP Spectre laptop. Fences is com

I'm having the exact same problem. I have to wait for maybe 5 minutes for fences to sort itself out and fix the desktop properly. Until then, I can't access or click a single icon on my desktop, which I frequently have to do. I've noticed that this happens mostly when I wake my laptop from sleep after I've connected my external monitor. Fences is trying to reconfigure the desktop (because the laptop's screen resolution and external monitor are different), and it goes haywire. It used

I've set my fences to "Never" show their title bar (Labels). But Folder Portals ignore this and always show their title bar when I mouse over them. It's really annoying! That animation of the title bar is distracting and shouldn't be happening. Please let us hide the labels on Folder Portals!
