Grrrr! Thats Beta2, we only have Beta1, stop with the teasing! :)
MrChris2000
Don't know if this will be selective participant beta or not, but please consider me for it - the quarter window in the corners thing is something I was asking about from the Win7beta days over on neowin.
If winFX does get some love, can it be made to customise/replace aero-snap as per: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=843196 (Didn't want to re-type all that, but you get the idea).
It would be really handy to have a configuration that would enable me to be off-line between 9am & 5pm (for example) (just realised you'd want a day selector too, wouldn't be needed at weekends). I occasionally work from home and on a few occasions I've been mid way through a webex demo and had an invite pop up because I forgot to close RTP, so having a way to have RTP off-line automatically during a work day would be great.
Guys, Don't know if there's a specific beta forum for logging bugs (haven't seen one), so I'll put the couple I've seen here: 1) Texture flicker - When creating my second city I noticed the selection box was shimmering around the edges implying the texture was drawing at slightly off co-ordinates. 2) For such a 'simple' part of the game I have noticed that it is maxxing my Radeon HD 4850's fan speed. Given whats on screen this shouldn't be required. 3) There's
Update: I've just noticed I dont get this problem after a rebuild and the only difference is WindowFX. It looks like - comparing two systems - that there's a setting in WFX which can interfere with the desktop show/hide.
No change after a reboot, however I have noticed that if I click and hold the left mouse button on the desktop the icons do vanish, so it becomes: Double click desktop - Fences outlines go away, icons remain in position Left click & hold - all icons not explictly Excluded from hiding vanish as expected. -- if its possible to add attachments I'm happy to do a screencap movie of the problem if you need more information?
Hi, I'm loving Fences so far, I've got my desktop sorted and laid out just how I like it which is great. However I have found one bug so far; when double clicking the desktop the fence backgrounds dissappear but all the icons stay where they are. When I first installed the beta and double clicked the icons vanished as well (expected behaviour), however since snapshot-ing my layout and rebooting I've not been able to get this functionality working again. Is this a
I've installed RightClick as part of my OD subscription and its pretty cool, however I'm missing the 'New..' menu from the classic right click context group. Being able to quickly create a new text document from a context menu for example is something I used alot, but now its gone. Any ideas how to get this back?
Hey, I completely agree that tastes differ, I'm not trying to impose mine on anyone else (certainly that wasnt the intention). I had a quick look over the premium skins and quite like Argos as its nice and simple. I suppose what I'm really getting at is that I thought there would be more 'productivity' elements to object desktop when I bought it and I'm not seeing those yet. All the widgets I've found are as my examples state, very basic and dont really help streamline my workflow. For
Damn, wrong 'general' forum, sorry, can a mod please move this over to the object desktop general page please.
Ok, so I've been using ObjectDesktop for a while now, and I love all the various components etc, however one thing bugs me. Where are the 'professional' skins? By that I mean a lot of the content (certainly the featured content - and everything on Colours), is very cutesy and has large icons and pictures of wizard hats etc, but thats not something I could really use on my works system. At present the best I've found is the 'Acrylic' skin from WB6.1 coupled with WinFX and some judiciou
I've posted this up to the GPGNet forums, but I figured I'd post here too as it's likely I'm not the only one who may have encountered this and it may have been SD who found the solution. Anyway, I've recently installed WB, WinFX, OD and a range of other apps and subsequently found that GPGNet (a component of the game SupremeCommander) will not start. The error log points to missing files but I've re-installed the lot (as well as .Net 2.0). Has this been seen by anyone here before? Any suggesti
Does Stardock have a suggestion box forum/email/page anywhere? I've just started using QTTabBar and really like it, but it lacks the shine I know SD usually bring to the table so I'd like to suggest they investigate creating their own implementation of tabs for explorer. Just curious if there's somewhere for this sort of thing already and what sort of things other people are thinking of - I'm a curious sort, but I'm no cat!
