I tried something similar on a smaler scale. A UN bill had passed that made a starbase cost 10bc a turn if it wasnt in a sector you controled. I gave some starbases to enemy civs. Iv also wondered if you could use a startegy like this to create an artificial choke point and get civs to fight each other

It seems to me that on higher dificulties (Iv played as high as intellegent) the Deregin dont do as well and are well ballanced. They have a realy strong early game, but they useualy end up as one of the weaker races. I think the other AIs just cant handle them on lower dificulies and that makes the AI seem better than it is.

Just wanted to give my $.02 on Tolkin. He was a great author and pretty much invented moddern fantasy. His books have some of the best immagry of any books I have ever read, but there are better books out there in my humble opion. I dont realy have an all time favortie fantasy series/author, but I agree with brian fackler that The Deeds of Paksernarion is verry good and The Wheel of Time is waaaaay to long. Id have to go with Issac Asamov for my favorite author of all time.

I only rush buy any if Im playing on a small map. Once Im done colonizing and claiming resources I go 100% tech and, tech up to diplomacy and trade. I ten trade Comm Theory and T
