Patch for original retail copy in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hi I have a retail boxed copy of the base game. The serial number from this version does not follow the new serial number setup as required for Steam games. Is there a patch around for version 1.0. I recall that the patch was included in the first add-on, but I just want look and play some of the original game only. Regards Michael
