I really enjoy the game and appreciate all that the development team got right, but I guess I wanted my cake and frosting. Given a choice, I will stick with what we have now.

I love GalCiv, but I must state that my number one gripe is the lack of quality cut scences. Alpha Centauri possesed the best cutscenes I have ever seen in a game (and I have played plenty). At least they nailed the gameplay.

http://www.rarlab.com/ .rar is a compresion algorithm similar to .zip. You can download the 'trial' version and use it almost indefinetly (until something you want to uncompress uses a higher version of winrar, then you must down load the latest 'trial' version).

I just did the same uninstall/reinstall and now Stardock shows only the incremental files. Great system once one gets the proper install order correct.

Even though I have a pretty good broadband connection, I was still a tad shocked to see that there was a 350+ MB update file. It has been downloading for twenty minutes now with thirty more to go. I congratulate Brad and the crew for their diligence with the regular updates. I will quite POed if there is nothing new in the file or it fails to install like mentioned in previous posts.
