Head on over to GOG.com (Good Old Games). They sell a version that runs on modern Windows via DosBox, and is reasonably priced at $5.99. http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/master_of_magic If you are a fan of Master of Magic, odds are decent you might enjoy SimTex's other space-4x older titles in the Master of Orion series too. You might want to avoid Master of Orion III however.

I have nothing useful to add regarding scripting. Yet I can no longer resist the impulse to remark that every time I see this blog post topic, a small Tim Allen-esque voice in my head reads the last part as "and BEYOND!" in true Buzz Lightyear fashion.

You've done pretty well with picking where and when to invest your time, professionally (exhibit one: Stardock) and it seems to me you've also been successful in terms of where you invest your "forum presence" as well (ex 2 - Qt3 - a rather more mature crowd, or at least more thoughtful). Not to mention creating a community and setting a tone, ie JoeUser. Just stick to the winning strategy you're already employing and don't sweat the small stuff (nor the "intarwebz tr0llz").&nbsp

There used to be a WONDERFUL one, PowerUserTV. Sadly, it's now defunct. Was the best podcast, and the best IRC channel room too. ID .. I mean, Island Dog remembers it I'm sure. He hung out there a lot too. Sigh. Good times. http://www.poweruser.tv/index.aspx?c=1 has the old episodes. I think there was another podcast more focused on the other non-game side of Stardocks busine

Most people go to these trade shows, and goggle at the gorgueos ladies. Brad, the Evil Capitalist, brings his own!! And does the show one better by making sure they're smart too!

Redundant, but I'd hate to see multiplayer take away resources from the single player game in any GC title. And any multiplayer mode would have to have a lot of flexibility in players dropping in and out and modes ala Pit Boss for Civ4 to have a hope of finishing anything but a small small game due to the nature of the series.

Now, a new question. How do I delete players. I've got the first character I created (who may be using the wrong serial number) and Mister Retire Early sitting on my account. How do I make them disappear? </TAB

I tried that. I got Stardock to email me my serial numbers, then opened up the game launcher and pressed the 'Update serial' button and changed it from the blank serial number it had to the GalCivII one from my email.<BR

Update on my situation: on a whim I decided to check what serial number SDC would tell me I have. It turned out not to match the number I was using, which was the number from the pre-download email. From comments on #galciv I gather I was supposed to recieve a different serial number via emai, but that never happened. Anyhow, I updated the

Been having an odd bug that I am not seeing listed elsewhere - after exiting the battle screen, using the numeric key pad 4 to move a ship will move the ship but ALSO will zoom the map out with each press. After a few zooms, the main map will compress to a tiny mess that sort of looks like it's WAY WAY zoomed out but trying to zoom back in has no effect, nor does further zooming out. The mini-map show the area being 'shown' on the main map as just a line rather than the usual trapezoid. Savin

I've had the same error as others but I am unclear on how to reslove it . The error is 13 - Your game submission was rejected because the application serial number does not match the serial number on the Metaverse server. Would you like to try posting you results again. To which I have answered yes multiple times with no result. Reloaded the endgamesave, same result. This is gonna sound silly, but I have now played two games, and 18 hours and both games have had tro
