Original poster here. An update. This laptop that I have seems to be one of those Affected by the faulty chips by Nvidia that were put into HP laptops in the first half of 2007. It's not on the list for a free repair so I'll have to spend $400 to get it fixed if I decide to do so. My alternative is to take the laptop apart (Using the service Manual that I downloaded) and try to reseat the heatsink or get a new motherboard or new laptop. I believe now that this "bug" was i

Laptop specs: 1.6 ghz Core 2 Duo Geforce 7600 go graphics 256mb dedicated memory 2gb ram Windows xp Running at 1400x900 res hp Pavilion DV9339us Performance was good at the title screen and "normal" for the 8-bit splash screen.:) The screens where you choose your faction and enemy choices runs normal. Before I was just passively interested. But now that Stardock will be injecting the game with thier quality, in addition to GPG. Well... This is now on my list of must buy games. Only with stardock can you have both a digital and physical copy of the game. And thier beta program is pretty cool. This will push up the quality of the game a great deal. Hopefully Stardock's business model will succeed again like it has in the past. They know how to treat thier customers. Post-release

BUG! Sound gets distorted when leaving the planet screen in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Was in the planet improvements screen and set up my improvements. When I left that screen the sound immediately got corrupted and distorted. Kind of funny because the same exact bug hit while playing Civ IV!!!!!

#1 Race portraits and animations for the minor races. #2 Rally points for ships built to form fleets. #3 Scenarios and scenario editor (Ability to choose scenarios from the main title screen) #4 Additional background graphics, instead of just stars, stars and more stars. You have your serial Number right? With your serial # you can just download the game. However, if you have a 56k modem that may not be wise. However, if I remember correctly Stardock Central lets you resume downloads. If you do this, you won't even need to worry about a CD.

If I decide to buy the game now, with my debit card, how long does it take until the money actually changes hands? The reason I ask is because money is going into my account tomorrow, and I'd like to get the game now. (Nobody in Toledo Ohio has the game, so i guess I'll download it.)

If a game is bad, Gamespot is usually one of the first reviewers that will actually give it a score it deserves. Anything above an 8 is worth getting. They are usually right on IMO. My mind is made up. I'm getting this game. However I'll wait til friday, when I get paid. Hopefully we'll have more reviews by then.

When you purchase the game online and download it, I understand that you can get the CD for the cost of shipping. My question is: Do you just get the CD, or do you get the paper manual and box as well? If you just end up getting the CD, does it come in a jewel case?
