It would be cool if GalCiv was as modable as Civ2 was... Thats the only reason civ2 was so great.. so much re-playability cause all those player made scenarios via the scenario editor :)

Yes.. a star trek mod would be totally awsome... i would even pay for it.. well if it was good enough. I would so help out... I hope GalCiv will be nice and modable. Teams: 1-Federation 2-Romulan 3-Klingon 4-Ferenghi 5-Cardassian 6-Borg or Dominion... (I would pick Borg, unless there is a way to mod in Tetracell White) Theres so many minor races that could be renamed... little OT here, but does anyone know anything about the real BOTF2? About a
Upstate New York all the way!!! One day Upstate will succeed and the New York State Civil war will begin.... ;) ;p ;)
So the ship scheme for GalCiv is more along the lines of Star Trek, not Star Wars? Thats cool, I like ST better anyway ;p (IE: Star Wars has huge capital ships that send out smaller fighters that scramble around them. Star Trek has medium to large ships that fly more or less by themselves, but can mass into armadas of fleets)
saw it mentioned on the Apolyton MOO3 forums
do you get a 1024K Expanded memory error message? Cause that can be fixed... also, isn't there that function that XP has that you can make WinXP emulate earlier forms of itself? (like Win9x - 2k)... actually, i know its there, i just can never remember where it is. I'd assume somewhere in Control Panel...
Well, to go further with my example, in Black & White (for those who may not have played it), you are a Diety (god) and float around a big map. There are little villagers that populated the map and you can only move around the map to places where the little vilagers worship you... you also have a huge animal that roams the island and is kinda like an extension of your power. The way to win the game was to make all the villagers on the map worship you and then attack the other Diety's temple.
you guys are scaring me with all this Download stuff... The game is still going to be purchasable in regular, ol' retail stores (EB, Gamestop, COMPusa, whatever) in a good old box, that has a CD-ROM that I can touch right? Also, if the above is still true, will the 'Bonus' material be in/part of the resale unit, or will you have to Download the bonus material stuff? (ala: Landmarks in SimCity(4)) Thanks, -Woas
Is Influence like Culture in Civ3?
(first time poster, long time reader here) About the good/neutral/evil style of gameplay; Did anyone play Black&White? Well, there was a big problem in that game because you could either be a very Good diety, or an Evil one (and your temple and huge creature changed visually to represent that) but there was no reason to be Good. I'm assuming there will be reason to be Good in GalCiv... but haven't really read any examples. Only examples of why being Evil would be better in GalC
