When I saw a preview of Windows 8 and read some of the reviews about 2 months ago, I went out and bought a computer with Windows 7 as the operating system. I put it away, for when this computer breaks. Windows 8 is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Please keep making the Windows 7 WB available for those of us that don't want Windows 8. I can not see how you could make blinds for it that were not a step backwards. I have been using WB since version 3 and it is one

Sorry to hear the sad news, a bit late getting it. I should stop by more often. I will add you and your Sister to my prayer list. Darco

JuniorCrooks, Thanks for answering my plea for help. I did not uninstall the 3.43 because it said not to, but it would not install and when I rebooted it couldn't find some file. Needless to say I am computer illiterate, so when I unlocked it and rebooted again, I just left it alone with 3.43. If 3.44 doesn't have the weather either because of some parsing error. I will just leave well enough alone rather than lose my SysMetrix. I have used them for years

I am getting the same error, my weather stopped working and I am using 3.43, I tried installing the latest 3.44 thinking that might help but I almost broke my computer. It wouldn't install. I am using Windows XP SP2. Firefox. If anyone knows what is going on I would appreciate knowing what to do. Thanks Darco

Thanks neophil78, I love the SysMetrix and have been using Nicks invention for 9 or 10 years. I am never without it. I especially like the latest that had the cpu's running in the system tray, just a glance to see why your computer is slowing up. Easy to operate, the skinners usually have everything coded right in. I want to thank pinchecl for helping me change the time from European or Army time to USA time. He and you make some of the best SysMetrix's o

Should the 3.41 be uninstalled first, or can you just install it on top of the old one? One more thing, will we be having the same problem with Weather.com like we had with the Widgets? I would hate to uninstall the old one and have this new one be unable to load tomorrow because of Weather.com. Version 3.41 without the weather is better than none at all. Thanks Nick for the update. I would hate to be without SysMetrix. Darco

I love SysMetrix and all weather reporting gadgets. Weather is very important to me also, my SysMetrix quit showing the weather also. That is why I came over here to see if anyone else had the same problem. I hope it gets fixed. Darco

What's next, the television and radio news will be government controlled? General suspension of habius corpus instead of the power of such that Homeland Security can already invoke. Dis-arming of the civil population? We've seen all of this before bot

Now my Desktop X stopped working. I emptied the Application Data Under C/Documents and Settings/H_P Administrator/Local Settings/Applications settings. I deleted the Current Theme and Widget Cache and tried to reload DX, the Main window comes up, but when I hit load object it just freezes and will not even let me right click and close it. <span st

I have read all 8 pages of this thread and everyone makes great points. However, graduating before computers even became popular, let alone learning how to script. I am surprised I got this far being self taught either through trial and error or the help from the good people on these forums. I for one appreciate all of the skinners that make such beautiful skins for the apps. on this website and for sharing them with us. I try to do my part by subscribing to Stard

OK, nobody laugh, but can you tell me what forum I am posting this in? I still have IE6 and can not see a forum title at the top. I am only getting here from the recent forum activity. I am afraid someone will post an answer and I will not be able to find it. Thanks! Darco[e digicons][/e]

Weather.com is up and giving the correct weather for Pittsburgh, Pa. but I see they are offering their own weather for your desktop. Maybe this has something to do with the problem. My SysMetrix is getting it's weather from Allegheny County Airport and it is still working, but it doesn't have a five day weather forecast. Whaaaaa! I can't live without my weather widgets, I hope some brain can come up with a work around. Darco

Hi, I haven't been here for a while but I am running the same Richard Moyer Combined Weather Widget since he made it, Years? Well today I got the same thing. Wrong zip code. I type my correct one in and it tells me it is invalid. This has happened before and I empty my current theme, widget cache and reopen Desktop X. That usually works, but not this time. I am getting the same error. It then tells me Desktop X has encountered an error and ne

Hi! Went to the GUI site for the first time today. Couldn't wait for it to start because some beautiful work comes from there. But am I to understand that I can not download anything from the site because I am still using IE6 instead of IE7? If this is true, I feel that I have lost a very dear friend who I have supported since you needed your very first server and put out a distress call. There are some of us older people that don't need the latest of everything and struggled to lea

Wha Hooowwww! You guys rock. That was the problem in reverse. I went into overrides and XP overrides was checked in both boxes, so I unchecked them and applied a new WB and wholla. There it was all skinned. Thank all of you so much for helping me, I couldn't have done it without you because most of that stuff in the settings, I don't understand. You will have to give me some time to get over this traumatic event before I go on to WB 6. Can you go fr

0cRz0, I think you are talking about "user overrides" XP Overrides, always use the XP taskbar in----that is not checked, it says Disable XP style taskbar. "always use the shell style defined in" is not checked either, it says "Always use Blue Shellstyle". I thought it might be because we had Nod32 3.0 updated, which we had been using for a year with no problem, but my Daughter said it started before that. There have been no new programs or driver updat

Lantec, That picture above is not my computer, I found that picture on Google search, That is Philippe's computer (whoever he is). He is using WB 6. I only used that picture because that is exactly how mine looks. I looked again and there are no tabs on the top of my 4.6 WindowBlinds. I clicked on everything and it's just not there. In the last 6 years I went from WB3 to WB4 then to 4.6 and every time I updated something went wrong, so when 4.6 was working that is where

Zubaz, I do not have that option to post my WB System information in 4.6 I already looked. That must have come out in a later model. I do not use the Stardock Browser because it took up too much space off of my monitor. I would rather just come to WinCustomize to look around. That picture is of someone else's problem that I found in the search at the top of the page. But that is exactly how mine is skinning. That is a version 6 and mine is version 4.6. I have n

Hi, It's me again. After reloading WindowBlinds 4.6 the task bar and start menu are not skinning no matter what skin I use. It was working fine for years and then it just stopped skinning them. It skins everything else in Windows Explorer and it skins everything on top. In the display properties it is skinned all around. After entering this problem in the search box on top, I found some one who had the same problem and posted a picture
