I pick a medium map every time, specifically because of the memory issues. My impression is that I'll last longer before an OOM error occurs if I choose a smaller map. I'd prefer very large maps. Huge... tracts of land.

Good post. I really like the idea of coming across a wilderness camp, and the game generating settlers based on the Sov's charisma. I also like being able to bring the settlers back to a city and merge them with the population. This makes sense in the context of the story, that the world is in ruins and you are trying to rally the people under your banner.

This OOM error occurred when I clicked on the next turn button. Immediately before crashing, I heard a metal klang sound effect, like a hammer hitting an anvil. The exact same OOM+Next Turn Button+Metal Klang sound occurred once before for me, sometime during Beta3. Hope these files are helpful: www.trgw.com/ele/Elemental1_06-2010-08-27T01-54-39-404.zip www.trgw.com/ele/debug2.err

Playing 1.01, clipping right along with no problems for quite some time, then while clicking to move my sov to a point on the map, I get an out of memory error. Here are the relevant files: http://www.trgw.com/ele/Elemental.dmp http://www.trgw.com/ele/debug.err

Posting in support of sea monsters. Kraken, sirens, a leviathan. Heck, storms at sea too (think Uncharted Waters, storms are your worst enemy). These storms could be tamed (or caused) by mastery of a air shard, or a water shard could create giant whirlpools. Fire shard = Boiling seas. I think an Earth shard can already raise islands (maybe sink them too). Basically, more ocean stuff, please. Edit: <a id="ctl00__Content__Repeater

I just experienced the same error, and the game didn't generate a dump file, but here's my DxDiag, my latest Save and the ZIP file from the ProgramData folder. I noticed two independent Out of Memory error boxes when the game did a CTD. This happened when I clicked on the next turn button. DxDiag Latest Save

I have a dump file named Sins-Entrenchment beta 1.1-2008-12-22-01-08-56-3632-3640.dmp, located in my ~\AppData\Local\Temp\Sins Dump folder. I'd just finished a game and selected "Main Menu", and the game locked, I alt tabbed and saw the .dmp file created, but I had to manually kill the Sins proccess to get it to exit. If there's a formal way to submit bug reports, I missed it, and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction. Thanks. &nbs

Another CTD issue, this time when clicking next turn. I used the same game as my earlier CTD crash (see this post 282), though I did update it after my first post to the 4.1.03 version. Heres the new debug file: www.crshop.biz/debug2.err here's the last line of the file: Debug Message: Carinoids (7): Researching: Gravity Mastering I'm running an AThlon XP 2700, 1gb ram, radeon 9700 pro (with dx 9 and cat 3.2), windows 2k sp3, realtek 650 sound, other info available on

Brad, do you think a P3 500 with 256mb RAM should handle things better than an Athlon 750 with only 128mb RAM? What's better when we're talking about what is needed to play the game, more Mhz or more RAM?

I appreciate your choice, and appreciate the relationship with your publisher that makes this choice possible. Kudos to teamwork and publisher support (which Moo3 has been shown a tremendous amount of)! I forsee a possibility that interest in Moo3 could help sell more copies of GalCiv than it otherwise might have as a standalone product, owing to a higher generated interest in the genre by the release of Moo3 and GalCiv in a short time frame. I hope this proves to be the case, and a res

Simply put, after getting the "A new thinking machine has been invented, all research has tripled!" event, my research times have not improved one bit. The main issues I notice as I've been playing are that my supposed bonuses gained don't seem to have any tangable effect, or the total points gained through a discovery or chosen as a bonus during the start have little to no effect, even when glaringly in my favor. This is frustrating to say the least.
