Wanted to get something off my chest. These 'Micropayments'. Seems you can't download an app now or find any 'free' game that doesn't have a $10-50 micropayment tied to it. I think it is a ripoff and a slap in the face to traditional gamers. Gone are the days where skill and practice get you by in a game. All you need is a big enough wallet and you can buy your way successfully. That doesn't make you a good gamer. I guess I am nostalgic to when demos or fre

Husband and wife are at a county fair, and are walking through the antique farm equipment exhibit when they come across a strange horse drawn contraption labeled 'manure spreader'. The wife asks, "What on earth is that thing?" The husband, having been raised in the South explains, "Back in the day they didn't have fertilizer like they do now, so they would load up manure on this wagon and the horses would pull it across the field." The wife asks, "
Posted on a game forum today about issues I was having. Put up a screen shot of my issue, and the next thing I know, the topic has turned away from the issue to everyone wanting to know how I got my desktop looking so cool. Objectdock and Deskscapes. Thanks for giving me 'geek cred' in the community. Everyone is drooling over my desktop now! This year will mark my 10th year as a customer of yours. The 'cred' is one thing but the outstanding customer suppo
Very nice little addition to the desktop. Few things I wanted to point out, if I may. (Hey, if you love someone, you let them know about that little dab of mustard on their cheek before they go out in public) - Doesn't seem to be a way to rename items you have added. Microsoft office in particular. (Word is visually more appealing and takes less space than Microsoft Office Word) - Spacers? Unless I am missing something there doesn't appear to be a way to move items aro
Growing up in the South, we ate whatever we hunted, be it deer, rabbit or squirrel. Raised to respect the land, and appreciate anything you bring home. That being said, a friend once fixed rattlesnake, and eel. I enjoyed the rattlesnake, but the eel tasted like calamari. Tough and rubbery. I wonder what we would compare meat to if we didn't have chicken?
I fixed it. I deleted all the Dreams, and reinstalled some new ones. I guess one of the Dreams was corrupt.
I recently reformatted my hard drive and rebuilt my apps. (I do that about twice a year to keep the system running smooth). Since the last rebuild, I can't get Dreams to run. The main application DeskScapes crashes as soon as I launch it. According to Impulse, I am running version 3.00. I miss my Dreams running on my desktop background. Anyone have any ideas which would cause the app to crash?
I was hoping to see my Hurricanes go for the cup this year, but the Penguins got the better of them.
Has anyone done any icons that look like they are in one of those round, ball ornaments? That would look cool...
This one came from an officer friend of mine.... A man is speeding home to work one day and gets pulled over. The officer walks up and taps on the window and asks, "Do you think you are a pilot? Why are you going so fast?" The man responds, "I am trying to get to work". The officer asks, "What do you do that requires you to speed to work?" The man looks at the officer and says "I'm an A**hole stretcher." The cop is floored. "An a*
Here's something strange that my pc has been doing lately. Whenever I go to copy, move, or delete files in XP, for some reason the system 'hangs' for about 30 seconds and then continues on with no issue. I can't track down what is causing this. So I reformatted the drive and reinstalled again. But it still does this. It has to be a hardware issue, but I've removed each device to try to track this, to no avail. Anyone else run into this issue, or seen this before? Oh, BTW, i
I Love this one....It reminds me of the look my wife gives me when I do something she considers stupid. (ie, pretty much everything I do) LOL
Is the tie-in to the two movies, Holiday Inn, and White Christmas the Irving Berlin song 'White Christmas'?
I bought a Tivo to avoid commercials, and now, they are trying to squeeze them back in. I guess paying $12.95 a month to skip past commercials no longer applies. Same goes with Sirius radio. You listen to one of the talk channels (and I dont mean just talk radio, I mean any one of the others not playing music) and you will hear commercials. Go figure. For some reason the whole thing starts to remind me of Alex's rehabilitation treatment in A
Cactoblasta, let me ask you a question.. With the current tax system, where is the incentive to do better for yourself? For example, at my last job, over a period of several years, I got three promotions. Each promotion came with a pay increase. And each time I got more money taken out than I had previously. So finally, at my last increase, my paycheck was reduced to below what I made before I started. You know what that taught me?
I remember dialing that number too, when I was younger. That was the only alternative (other thatn sticking your head out the window). The phone had a big rotary dialer (the older ones will remember those). I also remember our home phone was portable. That meant the cord on the phone was one of those 30 foot deals that would stretch down the hallway. LOL Of course, growing up in the rural south, I still remember dialing 5 digits and reaching someone in town (and this was in th
I'm a Network Administrator for a regional concrete company. And as of this past friday, I am 37. Hawkeye666
I remember having an internet 'based' email address via my WWIV BBS. And that was just out of college back then. Man that video makes me feel old. LOL
I've tried out the other search engines. You want to know what draws me back to Google? The simple interface. Try Yahoo, or MSN out. If I want the news, or games, or other things, I will go to them on my own. Try going to one of those sites with a dialup connection. Ask.com caught on to the simple interface idea. So did altavista.
My first machine was a Vic20, which we had for about a week before my father took it back to the store for a C-64. Load "karateka",8,1 LOL Man the hours I wasted played Castles of Dr. Creep on that thing....
Everything has been moving pretty fast since I last wrote about the Datacenter project. Several vendors came on site, and gave us recommendations for the update. AC will be fixed and working in the new room tomorrow. Monday the wiring for 240V single phase will be completed. I've gotten quotes from several manufacturers, and I have decided
At my current job, my role is Network Administrator. Currently we have grown outside of our small computer room, and need to work on upgrading to a bigger room. We have available an older room upstairs which is a safe, just being used for storage. Let me stop here and say our building we currently occupy was a bank until the late 70s. So, yes, I am looking a
I'm getting this also. It's on version 1.20, build 739. Only has a Horizontal display now. Plus any changes I save are lost on reboot.
Link to the Popular Mechanics article debunking the 911 myths. Link As an american, I am ashamed of a lot of people posting junk like that on 911. This is a solemn occasion. I like to think of myself as a 'middle of the road' person in politics, but what happened that day wasn't Republican or Democrat. It affected ALL of us. <br/
