good idea, but i think it should look more like a beholder were the main body is the Mechniced Armor and the Tentacles are Energy leaking out from the Armor. A Beholder looks like that:

Hmmm, Maybe you are right he would be better off as a General Type with Buffing his troops and debuffing (mana drain or other things like that) and some melee / ranged energy type skills.
