Nevermind - of course, right after posting I figure it out. You have to be in flower transform mode.

How do you summon the shamblers? in Demigod Demigod Forums

So, I'm playing a tournament (my second one, having just bought Demigod) as the Queen. I buy the shambler summoning skill... and I can't find any way to activate it. It doesn't seem to make a skill button you can click on, like summoning a Yei. And of course the extra-minimal manual, while devoting eight pages to Credits, mentions nothing about it. I'm sure it'll be obvious in retrospect, but it's not obvious up-front. Anyone?
