Not only does removing the ability to create custom content detract from the value, but they then charged 20% MORE for the game than the standard accepted price for PC AAA Titles. I'm assuming that because they got away with it on consoles, and it was a highly anticipated title, they believed they could. The sales seem to agree with that assessment, but there are a significant number of people I know who haven't bought it and won't buy it due to the price increase, elimination of

If you look at some PC exclusives, such as crysis and shattered horizon, and then at games like modern warfare, which are multiplatform, I think it's pretty obvious that multiplatform is holding back PC development. Things don't proceed along what a PC can do, because they have to keep it roughly analagous to what the 360 can do, and the 360 was comparable to a mid-level computer at best back in 2005 when it launched.

Also, that 50% probably takes into account quests that can be completed in more than one way, and the multiple endings. I can think of at least 4 endings offhand, with a possiblity of many more, depending on actions during the game.

"You don't actually get your DLC." Yeah, that was a problem for several hours on the first day of launch, pretty much because their servers were slammed and had problems processing everyone's keys and seeding the downloads. By about 3 PM Eastern time, I had my content (collectors + pre-order), and the game only came out at around 1 PM. I agree that they shouldn't have put the DLC quest guy in your camp (doesn't affect me with the DDE, though) if you don't have the DLC purch

They never actually said that they had the specific content planned out, just that they had plans to release more content on for about 2 years on a rough schedule. And actually they've already started talking to the community about these things over on the dragon age forums on bioware's site. They've taken ideas, and will continue to take feedback. I know you want to demonize EA, but bioware is trying to do things right for the community.
Dragon Age is the perfect game for me. I'm not going to buy it. Announcing a DLC even before the game is released is an insult. In fact, this business practice causes me to never ever buy a product from any company embracing consumer exploitation like this. I wish EA financial ruin.
Despite the fact that one of the "DLC" packs is included with all new copies, and the other is part of the collect

True enough, and if it becomes an issue, it would suck. Hopefully EA supplies them with new keys if/when needed. If not, well, stardock is pretty good about refunds from what I understand (never returned a product myself).

The launch day DLC was actually an attempt to either curb purchasing of used games, for which the company generates no revenue, or to make some money off of used games, since, across all platforms (although not applicable to digital distribution), the Stone Prisoner DLC is only available to the first purchaser (Tied to your XBLA or PSN account, probably), requiring someone who purchases it secondhand or via gamestop used games to buy it separately. The warden's keep is part of t

OR, despite the bitterness here, it could be like some of the stardock people mentioned in that they only got a certain number of keys for that DLC, and as such, if they run out of keys, they might not be able to give you access to it. Whether or not EA will give them more keys, it would be irresponsible on the part of stardock to guarantee access to something that they have a limited quantity of when they're not the source.

I'm relatively new, and not very good at Demigod. Any time I face a team with a QOT that has bramble shield, I get owned. Typically they also have an unclean beast, so I'll go to attack someone, they cast bramble shield, then poison spit me, and I'm dead before I can do any damage or escape. Does anyone have some advice on how I can effectively combat this?

Mac Drive. It's a program I want to get, and digitally, but I don't want to run into problems activating it when I reformat. I dual-boot my mac, and not being able to read/write to the mac partition is a pain. Edit: Also, since you have WinDVD 9, it'd be cool if you could get the new version, 2010 Pro on here. 9 is going for $60 elsewhere, and I'd like to get a player, but if I'm dropping the cash, I'd like the new one. In that thought, does Impulse have

MyColors themes seemed broken for me as well. It seemed to apply fine, but would randomly revert to the "Windows Classic" look. Not the whole theme, just the start bar, or other random parts. Edit: Windows 7 RC x64.

So I got the Sins theme for mycolors with SoaSE, and now that it works with windows 7, I installed it. There's just one problem... there are a ridiculous number of actions that seem to "Break" the skin, and the start menu or another aspect will revert not to windows 7 aero theme, but to a windows 98-esque look. These actions include Installing programs, opening mycolors (on occasion), and bittorrent (that only affects bittorrent, even though it's in the exclude group in settings).

Um. So it's October 22, Windows 7 is technically released, and yet no update. Local time, it's only been for a couple minutes, but "before" windows 7 launches has passed.

The obvious problem with going back and forth without restarting is that the units aren't the same stats. There were changes to vanilla sins units in entrenchment, so you'd have to keep an entire duplicate library of units, instead of just graying out certain ones. Supreme Commander and Forged alliance run the same way.

Just got a beta invite for LoL, but haven't installed it yet because for some reason it wants to install adobe AIR? This thread is a bit discouraging, but anyway, to the noob question at hand, what is HoN?

I really think something like this needs to be in place. I've played several games in "noob only" servers, where people ranked like 19 and 36, etc are joining. It's bullshit, but apart from alt-tabbing out to check their ranking when they join the lobby, there's nothing to be done about it, and after doing that a couple times, demigod locks up. This ends up pitting me against ridiculously high ranked players, who stomp me from the start. I don't learn anything from it,

I just bought demigod, and for the first several days, while playing on a lan with my friend (internet 2v2s), we had problems where one of us would always time out, which left the other guy screwed. So now my record kinda blows. I was wondering if I could wipe all my stats clean, favor, rankings, wins, losses, everything. Is that an option? (I bring it up because it is in L4D and TF2)
