All I have to say is that it is a shame that people have to defend themselves for using circles, squares, rectangles, and gradients, and any variation of the 3 primary colors without someone thinking it is their work. If anyone could copywright any of the above, they would be very rich indeed.
Styl Skinner, you will probably be waiting for awhile, alexandrie is too busy telling other people that their "own work" is someone else's work...case in point: Klatuu's Nightvision, just got the same rejection email after he had made a bug fix on Nightvision and waiting for it to be reuploaded and I sat here and watched him make this skin from scratch. And this rejection also was very vague.
What other skins are you looking for besides winamp? And how about a link here for your hockey site? Sometimes it helps to see what your site looks like to give a skinner ideas on what will go well with the actual site.
I really don't understand this at all. I can get a puke icon on every one of my skin comments and it doesn't personally bother me (and I am a woman). The whole point trying to be made here, at least to my understanding, is that this is supposed to be a very large and respected website, hence, there really is no place for an icon like this to even be offered to encourage people that need to express their point with it instead of "verbalizing" their opinion. Good question Lecrayon, I have been trying to figure that out myself. I have found the windows seems to regulate the size of the progam and places lists sizes (I get into problems there when I use one pic that stretches across the two-they don't always align properly) unless I am missing something, the icon and font sizes are also regulated by windows and I can't see where windowblinds actually checks the sizes or resizes accordingly. Use XP Pro, was told it has better stability, and any extra security never hurts. Went from Win98se, and after a little adjustment, love it. The best thing is that I got to give a great farewell to the dreaded blue screen of death!

I have several skins that I have needed to have the specific size for the start menu to work right. (in pixels) I start with a 392 wide x 488 High rectangle. Top Panel 392 x 68 Program List 196 x 392 Places List 196 x 420 More Programs 196 x 28 There are times I adjust these figures but it keeps me from having to do alot of tweaking to get the sections to line up correctly. I would like to know why in the rules you can't use someone else's work without permission, but in the windowblinds skins under movies there are alot of skins that are blatantly using copyrighted movie images and have not been challenged for their infringement. Since I still have a 15 and 17 inch monitors, I still use the 800 x 600, if I go any higher it makes alot of items hard to read. I find that I can resize many of the higher resolutions back to 800 x 600 and there is no real problem, the only thing I've seen so far are the animated walls for desktop X that I can't use and haven't managed a way resize (yet)and this is a big disappointment. As Hell Dragon pointed out, their poll shows that 800 x 600 is still used most and the 1024 x 768 comes in

Hey T-Man. I like the new format. I have a website and know how time consuming it all can be to make changes, worse than creating the thing to begin with. Its always hard to adjust to changes, but we all eventually get used to it. Keep up the good work!
I hate to continue this thread, but you all have to remember...do the skins for your pleasure. Sure its great to see a high rating on your skin, and a real high to see alot of downloads, and even to get into the top author's list from time to time even though its usually only for a day. We all enjoy that ego boost, but its still your work, your hard work and whether or not you get good ratings or bad, or good comments or bad, it all comes down to the fact that you were happy and satisfied with
Hi there. I used to live in Hawaii and it does not have interstate highways. They are just classified as Highways or State Roads. You can only go 40 miles in any direction on Oahu, so I think even calling them highways is pushing it!

I have been playing with using bmp's as mouseovers in the start menu and the logoff area, but I can't seem to figure out how to do the same on the all programs section, I can only use a color. Is there something I'm missing or is this capability still missing in skinstudio?
