Ahah, found some good info here ( http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=1128&page=2 ): LANGUAGE PACKS Here’s a confusing feature primarily of use for multilingual speakers. Within two weeks of launch, Windows 7 will support 35 languages. Your base installation will use the language you purchase initially (U.S. English for most readers of this article), but any user of any Windows edition inclu

I am looking into pre-ordering Windows 7, but I have been trying to find out more info about this "multi-lingual user interface pack" before I make a version decision, but have been failing. Currently I use the windows IME to write in different languages, and I switch my region if a program needs me to. Is this just a region-changer without needing a restart? I am not sure what improvements this offers over the natual multi-language support that gets offered to all other versions of Wind
My questions: - What sound system are you using? Something like FMOD? - Who are you getting to do unit/character voices?
Since this occurs when in one mode and not the other, I wonder if there may be a slight change in the weapon setup. That, or perhaps it is an issue with animations. Hard to say, but if I remember after work, I will try to take a look at it. Don't really expect anything since it likely is an issue deeper in the game, but who knows? Posting here so that I can track the post since my mind sucks >_
What you can do is attach a command to the target field of the shortcut. This saves time if you want the game to start in a certain resolution in windowed mode. It should look something like: "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\demigod.exe" /windowed 1280 720
Will this be viewable somewhere on the website afterwards, seeing as I will be working then?
I’d be curious to find out if modders could add new units and such.
Modders cannot add new models due to the fact that the models use the Granny 3D format and that there is no exporter that any of us can get to put our models in-game. If GPG could somehow release an exporter for us, then you would see custom models working. So, aside from unit/structure/map models, you will be able to see custom sound files (FMOD), custom video files (Bink),
As far as VoIP goes, from Frogboy's comment on it, he said they were going for high quality voice chat, which might leave some people with sub-par connections not able to use it. On the bright side, we might actually be able to hear what people say when they use it!
You could do this with a mod seeing as the player ID data can be seen from the lobby menu, although I remember Frogboy talking about players possibly getting a personal 'banlist', so maybe we shall see that in the future.
Happy day-of-birth-anniversary!
Those mountains, forests, and waves look beautiful! *Follows the thread*
Messed around some more! I know that the pink and purple look pretty close, and the non-light blue looks horrible on the unclean beast, but aside from that, do you think that these colours go well? I set Light to pure white and Dark to pure black.
When I get back from work I shall try out some different colour setups, with pure white and black for the teams, and with more vibrant colours for the Demigods, and then take some more screenshots of a more frantic clump of dudes ^_^
How is this for the units? I'll see if I can mess with the minimap. If the teams were yellow and blue on the minimap, what colour should the flags be? If possible, I would eventually like to make an option in the game settings so that users could define their own colours for the teams. EDIT: Editing the minimap works, although it goes on a friendly/enemy color system, so it would li
Sounds great! Will there be an NDA on the alpha?
What do you suppose would be the best pair of colours to use? Blue and yellow as was said just above? It wouldn't be hard to change the colours that the game applies to the models of Light/Dark, though I am not too sure of how distinct it is. I will try this after work and post some screenshot if I have some time, and then possibly put out a mod when version 1.2 comes out with mod support.
I am thinking that what I used was the NWN2 exporter, but it has been a while. It was the one that only worked with Max 8. I could be easily wrong, but I have tried to apply the maps in many different ways to try to get my file to match the same setup at GPG's when viewed in the Granny Viewer. I am pretty sure that it is a difference between the Granny versions where the latest one needs a certain different setup before exporting. Now, as custom units did not run into the specularity
As a workaround, perhaps if someone had a non-English/non-Russian language copy, they could upload the localized text files and sound files for whoever wants them. I don't have access to any of this to test, but I assume that it could be got working.
Here is a custom map test from the beta using a Granny V6 exporter: As you can see, the specularity and other things do not work correctly. Without an up-to-date exporter and better map editor, we will never have custom map without entirely re-used map models.
Here is some stuff that we tried with that during the beta: http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=31580 While maps can technically be exported, they do not export correctly due to only being in Granny 6 format instead of Granny 7. They don't grab the textures correctly methinks. Plus, all that we have is the very first beta map editor.
The only thing that I use Twitter for is for following game devs (pretty much just the Natural Selection 2 team) so this is awesome! I get excited by the little snippets of development talk just like what was just posted =D PS. I love your logo! Super cute!

If someone is going to berate you over the items that you choose, I doubt that you would not be yelling at you already for your nationality, skill, name, ping, etc. That said, I totally do not deny that it could happen. Give me a shout if you ever run into an instance like that. In theory I think that it should help people so that they have more information at their disposal, and if they are able to, calculate that information into their plans, offer advice, or any other non-jerk thing ^_^</p
It shows the items for all of the demigods on your team, and all of the mana for any unit on your team that has mana.
