[quote who="eraseme1" reply="6" id="2013570"] The community has been informed well in advance of these things and yet you keep crying. Therefore you really have no ground for crying about being ripped off, no matter what you think you know about the issue. Maybe it's exactly this kind of patronizing tone that puts me off reading what the "well informed community" for which you appear to be the elected speaker has to say. I see that you

I could care less about the business of the developer or the business of making games - I am not a fanboy just a consumer. I only have so many game dollars to spend and won't be so quick to spend them with these guys - I have been looking forward to Demigod but considering the way they've managed this game I am
This happened to me once. It was for UT2004. I had the option that allowed for pre release versions enabled. I disabled that and viola. Hope this works for you.

It is the best way to thresh out differences and learn from one another. Not all lawyers are unreasonable. I understand your zeal in defending the developers of Entrenchment. I just wish that they better stop posting release dates if they could not promise to keep them, or at the
[quote who="Ryster092" reply="16" id="2004061"] Quoting Lokoth, reply 13 Let me put it this way: You have been given a chance to help beta test a game that you already like. People would give body parts to be part of the beta process of a game. Look at the fervor over beta status from WoW, Age of Conan, and other games and you will see that this is a cool chance to be part of the development process (this is how the space ponies achievement came i

Let me put it this[quote who="eraseme1" reply="5" id="2002932"]Alright, let me put it this way: I got quite some fun out of SoaSE and had so far not a complaint about Ironclad/Stardock. Although curious about the expansion, I was aware of some balancing problems in the beta version (in particular issues with mines), which were supposed to be fixed in the final version. Anyway, I bought entrenchment on Jan 1st, the nominal release date. Before I
Stardock games have no DRM, they have said repeatedly that other publishers on their site may be doing so and that the customer would be informed. Get off your soapbox and drop the drama. Also, EA has lifted the limited install clause on Spore, look at their own forums and site to see how to do it.
Hate to add to the pile-on, but same here. I am running the most recent ATI vid drivers and even dropped my resolution to see if that is an issue. I end up crashing within the first 5-10 minutes of any game or save I hop into. I have turned my firewall and antivirus off and there is no difference. Running out of ideas...
Are you referring to c:/program files/stardock games/sins as the install directory? XP user
I recently installed Entrenchment and have recieved an error stating that the file d3dx9_36.dll is missing. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and no success. Before I start hunting for the files on the internet I thought I would stop here and see if this is a common error. Help please?
Moorecock's Eternal Champion series is fantastic. If you read all the books in the series, not just the Elric ones you see how everything (everything) ties together. His books have a great way of revisiting earlier works and expanding on them and adding to the characters in a way that does not rewrite or cheapen them. Of the two character lines in his books, the von Bek series and the Elric series are the more entertaining, but they are all great.

Unimpressed? Angry! I had been impressed with the way that the developers had been listening to what gamers would like to see and then developing the game along those lines, but they have let themselves down with the Entrenchment release debacle. [quote]Frogboy, maybe you need to check over at https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/forum/457 Plenty of ""Impulse don't work" threads" over there. Forcing something like impulse on your customers you better be sure that it works well, impulse doesn't. The name of the product is ironic, because it feels like you did it on an "impulse". I have no interest of alfa/beta testing your content distribution system and I don't want a major hassle every t
AVG is the best I've come across so far. I recommend paying for the full version as well. It doesn't interfere with your daily computing and it seems to catch just about everything. Saved my compy when I let a nephew play online for a bit. No nekkid pictures, but he hit a ton of warez sites and other disreputable".ru" domains. Now I know better for when I have my own kids.

Please, Use punctuation and a dictionary. Your grammar hurts.
Just do what we used to do in the old Dreamcast days: Unplug their controller, er, mouse and keyboard. THat should provide enough shock and awe.
Figured it out. I de-selected the pre release versions options and it dowmloaded correctly.
I purchased UT 2004 this morning and have not been able to download it. Twice now the download stopps at 80-ish percent and informs me that "file downloaded is smaller than expected. Please help _edit- I just noticed that the target download size in the status bar is 2.31 GB, while the total file sive listed my the install instructions is 5.7 GB. Don't feel old, I stopped after 2nd ed. Third seemed like the beginning of the money grabbing days of GW.
