Recently (in the past 2-3 days), I've begun to experience an issue where I will lose connection with all other players, be dropped from the game and receive the victory screen. After the victory screen, the game locks up when I select return to main menu. I just verified the install and that came back okay, so my next step will be to run a scan disc. I haven't changed anything (software or hard drive) in my system recently, so I'm not sure what else it could be. Any

Why not have a war score cost for all citadel upgrades, so you can't just save it until you get giants and spend it all? There might need to be a bit of an adjustment for how quick you acquire war score and/or at what levels you hit different war ranks.
When I was last pissign around in single player, I found that if I bought a favor item, I'd lose the favor item at the end of the game, but wouldn't get my favor points back. So I just started doing custom games vs AI like the above poster.
I just encountered this... I wish I had taken a SS, but I did see an item box on the ground, which I thought was weird. I wonder if dropping items has anything to do with this?
It's not an exploit, it's a bug and a well documented one... I first learned about it from Sedna build guides on this very forum, and it is additionally listed in some Demigod wikis. It's been this way since before I started playing 5-6 weeks ago, and there have been several patches since... why it has not been fixed I can not understand. However, until Stardock/GPG fix introduce what should be a simple fix, I will continue to take advantage of this situation when playing as Sedna
Rumors are ATI is due out with the 5870 in November. Either way the 4850/4870 are just insane values for the money. I think it's awesome that people are offering up public vent servers, unfortunately people do not seem to use them. There are two others that have been posted that I've seen, but nody seem to join them. I just use my clan's vent now, so it's not an issue personally but it would be nice to improve communication in teams where it's currently lacking. That said, I can not fathom how you could have played tens of games and not run into pre-made teams. Ther
I think the choice is obvious, if you believe that the cards are in fact 13 months away and won't be coming out until next summer/fall, just add another 4870. The 4870s are so cheap now for anybody with even just a little disposable income (I just picked up a Saphire 1GB 4870 from New Egg for 150), it's a no brainer. Take advantage of the aggressive pricing now, and take advantage of it again in two years when the new cards are out and Nvidia and ATI are duking it out with price cuts ag
There has been a lot of crashing lately, and especially tonight. I don't want to sound all tin-foily but mass crashes do seem to happen more often when we're winning, as if some people have figured out a behaviour that will take down everybody else in the game. Could certanily just be a coincidence.
These servers! [e digicons]XO[/e]
We were having mega crashes tonight, we had about 5-6 people on vent playing DG and I would say we expeirenced 20 crashes over a few hours between the lot of us. Several times 2-3 would crash at the same time in the same game. It is very annoying and has friends looking for alternatives to Demigod, which is unfortunate because we really like this game when it works. Also, there seemed to be some network issues - lag in games with high sim speeds and good pin
The OP is clearly being fastecious, and those who can't see it are... sad. That said, if you don't want people to leave the lobby when you have a premade team, put it in the game title. Maybe you'll get more premade teams in opposition. I can't blame anyone for not wanting to play in a game of randoms vs premade. I don't play against them when if I don't have a team mate(s). Playing against premade teams is fun but often challenging. It's bad enough that
I've noticed this before as well. I didn't take a SS or actually stop to verify 100% but I could have sworn I had 7 spirits with Raise Dead II (I am positive it was not RD 3, was not leveled for it yet), and this was on the map Prison as well. I wish I would have recorded it somehow. Will keep an eye out for it in the future.
If you press shift+tab and bring up the impulse menu, there actually is a generally chat/lobby but I agree it is somewhat difficult to find. I would have expected it to be prominently featured in the multiplayer screens. Similarly, there is a friends system built it - though it is of marginal functionality. The best solution imho is to either join a clan (XoO, the clan I'm in is pretty casual orientated with a few members who like to do the clan wars stuff) or find a publi
I think people who offer up public vent slots are awesome, but also you should mention Teamspeak. Having used both, I think they are both fine, but the nice thing about TS is that you can host your own server for free. http://www.teamspeak.com
Have you tried playing in the custom games? I think that is where most of the action is; I've even played a handful of 5v5s.
Pax: I've noticed a fair amount of shitheads myself, and some kind souls as well. I found the game expeirence much more enjoyable when I found a group of regulars to play with on a public vent. Most of those guys joined a clan, and so did I, and the players in this clan have been very helpful and patient with me. I'm not out to recruit for the clan, nor do I have any kind of skin in the game, but you might try the clan Xen of Onslaught if you want a mature group to play with
Only all the time. I hadn't had any with the latest patch, but I've had more than a handfull (5+) in the past few weeks... it's very annoying.
I've played against an Oak that did this. He claimed he just upgraded them through out the game and ended up with that many (he never died so there's an outside chance it's possible), but anyone who has used minions should know that no matter how hard you try to micromanage them, they do something stupid to get themselves killed, and this Oak had his minions swarming around him during the entire game. They really need to fix the idols. I regularly buy, cast, and resell the
I've had this happen (at least) twice... the first in a 4v4 where one guy on our team got the win screen nearly 10 minutes before me, two of us got it a bit later, and then the last guy finally got it 2-3 minutes after we did. It was very weird. The first guy to get the win screen had his recorded as a loss (counting it as a discount I think). It happened again tonight in a 3v3 but much less severe this time. I was given a loss for our win even though I played the game
How old are you? 23 What gaming experience do you have?/How often will you play during a week? Varies by schedule and phase of the moon, etc but usuall 2-3 games 3-5 days a week.
There is another thread just like this called "Favorite Advent ship combo's ?"
Everybody else has been adding something constructive to this thread. Why can't you? Personally, I load up on the drone cruisers and a pair of motherships, and throw in some defense vessels and a few purge frigates for good measure. It's worked well for me, but I'm typically pretty bad at RTS and have just finished a few games on easy. I've only been playing as Advent, so I'm thinki
