Random guy's ideas are the best compromise between the current Generals and the "almost RTS" feel that was previously advertised as a feature for Demigod and that disappeared since. If they do something like this, I'll definitively have better hopes for the game to attract different kind of gamers, and to remain attractive longer, because it adds significant depth to the game. Unfortunately, I think GPG / Stardock have chosen to be lazy with Ge

I think there should be weaknesses against magic, and against pysical damages. This adds variety, and it's simple. When you choose some equipment, a very high defense armor should not protect you very well against a rain of fire, but very well against minotaurs or Rook attacks. If you want protection from magic, you buy appropriate stuff. It's extremely basic, I wouldn't understand if they don't do something like this. For buildings also: magic shouldn't deal much damages agai
I think the shop-buildings should be redesign to look more impressive(at least twice the size with a decent design) and specific in the game. Because for now, it's difficult to me to see the difference without the textbox or knowing where they are. Otherwise, in general, buildings should be resizing to be higher and larger (but not that much). And what abour mercenaries as special units ? Will there be some special b

I agree with many suggestions here. The most efficient way to play Regulus currently is to focus only on stats increase and get the AOE gloves and other weapon buffing items (attack speed and damage increase). You don't need skills, except when you can't buff your stats anymore... Not only mines are useless IMO, but also Snipe, because it takes long to charge, and will overall deal much less damages than your normal attack would do if you attack normally with a focus on stats

What I mean is that yes, the Stronghold should grow only vertically, but it should be much larger to begin with. Like "impressive" to begin with, and "Awe inspring" in the middle of a match and "overwhelming" in the last stages. It could even get damaging capabilities at certain stages. And all basic defense buildings, towers, forts, are definitely too small, not only in height but also in width. Regulus, tiny Demigod, is larger than a Tower, WTF??? The Rook could just grab a tiny tow
The item shops are probably only placeholders anyway, I wouldn't get too worried about them as word is they'll be replaced with a single one stop shop instead.
Good to know, thanks for the info (they were too ugly to be real thingies!), but my other points remain, especially about the scale feeling.

Seriously, this guy puts a lot of efforts to improve the game. His suggestions are to me interesting 100% of the time, if not brilliant. His ideas would definitely improve Demigod in numerous ways. I hope GPG/ Stardock will consider his input with the utmost consideration so to speak. Thank you innociv! Other members have really nice ideas too, and I sincerely hope a fair number will get into beta 2 or 3. There is so much potential in Demigod : these suggestions I read all the time wo

I think buildings in the Demigod beta are lacking in design. 1. The looks: the scale is out of the window The idea of a growing Stronghold is good, but it only grows vertically. And above all, it's small to begin with. It's not impressive. It should start much bigger and grow much bigger. All the buildings are way too smal IMO. Assaulting a castle or a tower with Minotaurs is like assaulting a (big) sand castle. The tiniest creature is half the size of a tower. The sma

I agree with the Big One and was about o post something of the same kind. Consumables that allow stun immunity for a short period, or equipment that would grant 33% chance of resisting stun would be excellent. (You could still be frozen though) Other possible solutions for the Stun problem: - the Torchbearer stun seem to me most balanced, because it doesn't begin with a long duration, grow in potency with time. The problem is the possibility to chain the

Yeah, scale really matters when you want to make a game with badass heroes. How do you make assaulting a stronghold something epic when it's the same size as a character??? If the Lord of the Ring, return of the king, had a tiny Citadel, it wouldn't have been epic at all. They kept the sizes of Warcraft 3 as a model, but this game is 8 years old now, computers can handle more polygons...

I overally agree, especially about building sizes. Buildings are definitely too small, you defend a Citadel in which a single Demigod can barely fit, even when you exclude the Rook. Towers are the same size as Demigods, even though they are supposed to be mighty structures. The scale of all buildings is just messed up IMO. I don't mind the different sizes of Demigods though. I think Regulus small size fits well with the character (good at evasion, attacks from afar, and can blend with creep).

It seems the gamedesign trend for Demigod was simplification. I think it's good to welcome newcomers, but might be a dangerous bet because it might make the game wear off its replaybilty over a shorter time.

Very good remarks and suggestions. I especially agree with the absence of collision which is really "cheap", and the strange behaviours of AI Demigods who sometimes are just frozen. Also, same for me: the line of sight seems to me way too short. + the absence of mouse scrolls looks like a bug to me. The balance observations may be right, they seem to make sense, but I prefer to wait before jumping to conclusion. Yet, anything that can improve var

First impressions are mixed but rather positive. Graphics and atmosphere: - I have to say it looks beautiful, and seems well optimized. You can zoom all you want turn the camera in every direction, no problem. They kept it simple, but it will definitely help with low specs computers. Buildings are definitely too small though, and the ones where you buy stuff are just plain ugly. I wish they had some textures on them... Other th
