Crashing at invasion screen in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hello guys, I am having this really not beautiful problem that my GalCiv II crashes since two days now. It didn't do this before, but this is the first time I play a huge Galaxy and just some turns ago a war started. Now I guess it could be a problem with the 3D Graphics, since the crash prefers to happen at the Invasion screen. The really ugly thing is that it doesn't just crash to desktop, it crashes the whole laptop. First it changes to desktop at 640x480, the usual XP message "need

No! But I was already thinking that perhaps I misspelled my Email address at the activation. I don't know a way to find that out, but it should be possible, shouldn't it? It can't be that the 19.90€ are ruined because of that. (then again, copyprotection nowadays...)

Hello, I just bought a boxed german version of Galactic Civilizations II from an online shop (I really did, it is NOT a copied version - the box was still wrapped in plastic). After installing, I downloaded the most recent patch from the Galciv homepage, using my serial number. Then I launched the game and activated it - again with my serial number and my Email address (and it worked).
