It is only vagueties at the moment, all I know came from the linked article. This could indeed hurt the indie sector. The question is would this mean them losing more or less money than they currently do due to piracy?

The panel ideas seem good, especially the modding one (as a modder myself ;) ). However, 4095 miles seems a long way to go on a whim :P .

After talks coordinated by the government, it turns out that ISPs and record companies could offer legal broadband subscription services that permit file sharing of music by the end of this year. This would make the UK the second nation, after South Korea, where this takes place. However, no deals have been signed yet and some details still need to be worked out. This could possibly be the end of large

The UK government has just announced something similar , making PEGI ratings compulsory and establishing a "UK Council for Child Internet Safety". Good old governments chasing rather irrelevant issues to look like they're doing something :P .

Apparantly his plans are to leave with the cash and his passport and then take the next plane to wherever. Personally, I don't think I'd be able to do that, but I'd like to think that I would (if that makes sense :p ). It will certainly be interesting to see where this guy ends up.

I have an old laptop under the bed, but the battery's bunk, the CD drive cover is broken and Windows won't boot, so I doubt I will be able to do much with it :P . Interesting read anyways, and with the economic development of countries like China and India, the only way I can see the number going is up.

[quote who="catwhowalksbyhimself" comment="1"] A little late, since I've known about it for weeks, but still pretty nifty. The Civ 4 engine is a good way to give it a much-needed update and make it a modern game. I'm hoping they'll try something similar with Alpha Centauri next, especially if this update sells well. Keeping up with the trend at Firaxis to relaunch older Sid Meier titles, the company has announced that Colonization is going to be released as a standalone expansion pack for Civilization 4. In it you will play as either English, Spanish, French or Dutch colonists trying to forge a new nation in the New World. It will include "Improved Diplomacy", multiplayer, a new interface and the brilliant level of moddability there is in Civ 4. Personally I am looking forward to the game and wil

You can't mod in planetary bombardment, but you could add another invasion tactic that gives a ridiculous boost to you.

After getting through the rather shambolic download process yesterday, I am currently using Firefox, and although the new features aren't as impressive as those added in FF2, there are a lot of little things that I really like.

There is no easy way to add them, certainly not with the editors. Someone found out how to edit the savegame to customize them, but I can't seem to find the thread.

I have taken the artificial planets feature from THHGTTG mod and released it separately. This mod replaces econ bases with a new type of starbase, artificial planets! Unfortunately they function like starbases, not planets, but that can't be helped. Also, starbases and artificial planets now have to be researched. TA compatibility has just been added, but in that version artificial planets appear much later, at the same time as Terror Stars. This mod is for both DL, DA and TA and
