Cari, I don't believe I had that particular resolution passed at the time where my freighter being shot down caused the system to freeze. Prior to losing this particular freighter I had lost a few others but every so often it seems to freeze with the end turn button showing that it's still processing the turn.

With beta 1.04.002 I've run into several lockups (not CTDs) when an alien race attacks one of my mini-freighters in deep space. Each time it has happened the enemy ship has been shrouded in the fog-o-war(tm) so I imagine this may have something to do with it.
No luck here as of yet, I've tried the new build and clearing of the temp directory trick to no avail... For now I'll have to settle for drooling over the list of improvements :)
I've been coming accross this bug a bit lately with the newest version. The sound plays along fine for a while, then the sound and the music quit. Other programs still function normally if I leave galciv and start one of them up. Sound also comes back if I just restart GalCiv as they said.
Sorry I've been quiet for so long... had a rather time consuming (not to mention expensive) computer crash. I was very happy to come back to a lot of new graphical enhancements tho... anyway, my only issue would be with the find button. At the moment it doesn't appear to locate ships on autopilot. Would it be possible to modify this so that you can easily keep track of where all those free scouts that I keep shipping off to the opposite end of the galaxy are?
Ok, I just ran into this problem with the newest version (the update to alpha 5). I had autoturn enabled, and it occurred right after I had sent a colony ship into autopilot. This was the only ship not in orbit at the time. I tried moving a defender out of orbit and it says that it has 1 move left, but won't allow me to move it. One other thing that might go along with the problem is that the buttons on the bottom of the diplomacy also had no text (but were still clickable). Anyway, I saved the
I'm sure that after all of that AI programming you've managed to compile quite a list of profane messages already so you might as well make that standard... think of it as Sinistar taken to the next level :)
ah yes, that is possible... I don't think I saw two of them tho... maybe they spawned on the same tile? I'm trying to remember back to last week (long day at work ) and if I'm not mistaken I made the trades immediately after receiving the ship(s). I will do my best to duplicate it and let you know what I come up with
Yea, I received the scout from an anomaly as I don't believe I had that tech as of yet and I tried to pawn it off on somebody else to make them happy. If it helps I contacted the races one after the other without leaving the diplomacy screen. It gave me the "I'm glad we could come to an agreement" message on both races but when I contacted a third to see if I could trade it to them as well it was gone. But afterwards both races had hostile relations rather than at war.
I know that the diplomacy is still in its infant stages, but I was able to trade a scout to two different races in order to bring my relations out of "at war". Was a good deal apart from the fact that they just declared war on me again two turns later :)
Oh, and one more thing, I checked that link and it stated to e-mail the info to a particular address, but the address didn't show... anybody know it off the top of their head?
Ok, sorry people, I read this after I ran into another issue and I haven't been able to duplicate it as of yet so I'll just give you the description... I ended up getting a windows pop-up titled "Hard Coded Breakpoint" the text read "Duplicate Name!" At line 1102 of E:\DX8_2\Multimedia\dshow\filters\core\filgraph\filgraph\filgraph.cpp Continue? (Cancel to debug) I thought it might have something to do with my DirectX SDK, but I double checked and that's on my D Drive and the di
ok I managed to lock the computer a few times on my ME machine... when going to purchase a social improvement (I assume it happens for ships as well but I haven't tried yet) and I click purchase to get to my choice of bastards (nice wording by the way) I clicked on the nothing selection to cancel out and the selection remained there... being the ever so mindless automaton that I am I then clicked on purchase. In the background I heard that lovely windows critical error sound and the computer fro
Hi, don't know if I'm too late for this, but I'd love to get in on the alpha release if possible... the e-mail address I signed up for drengin with is [email protected] Thanks
