I have a good idea for the combat system. In the manual, I read references to how stabbing and blunt force weapons can affect units differently depending on their armor. I recommend something similar to the Gal Civ2 attack and defense types, except perhaps more than the square root if you're defending with armor that doesn't correspond to the attacker's weapon type.
Your comparison is poor. You don't have to experience something per-say to have a solid basis for making an opinion. Very true, but also making sure you know the difference between a firing and a layoff helps. :/
Which is largely what I was angling toward. Obviously anyone can spout off on anything. Merely having an opinion on something one has no real knowledge of does not necessarily give the opinion worth, which was the heart of my stat

I bought the game yesterday and applied the 1.07 patch so I can't speak for playability before this. As for 1.07, I only noticed a couple of minor irritations regarding the interface (hitting B, S, or T multiple times opens multiples of the given window, and has to be closed that number of times), and after playing for about an hour, on the main map and tactical map, when I move a unit they sometimes turn invisible. Eventually I am unable to move them so I must either autoresolve, or sav

That would have led to a lot less confusion and been fairer to gamers who supported the developer by buying the original game, thereby supplying them with cashflow while they produced the reboot version. For what reboot offers, it is not worth even the $11 Impulse sells it for as a patch to add to your origin

I was nuts for mass effect 1. But I think I'm the only one who thought mass effect 2 kind of sucked. I can't explain why without spoilers. Like 50% of the plot was awesome, but the end, well, I thought it was an atrocity.

I just saw the new movie Predators. I went in with low expectations because I didn't want to get very excited and then disappointed if it was lame. That worry was unfounded because I thought it was AWESOME. Very fitting addition to the Predator set of movies. The characters were great, the story was great, and the action/visuals were great. All in all, just a classic awesome movie.

Thats generally a good rule of thumb for software in general. If a piece of software can be broken by clicking something then it probably wasn't worth using in the first place. Mostly you learn alot by using all functionality at least once.
I agree. I check every single thing I can.

Blizzard has more fans than just about any other single developer in the world save maybe for Nintendo. I suppose Activision are hoping that buys them in with fans. And suddenly the $60 x 3 cost scheme for SC2 makes sense. Oh well, guess I'll be taking an extended break from the RTS genre then. And I assume this means Diablo 3 will have a monthly fee to play this time around now.
Your prediction rega

Without warning, my account was permanently suspended and everything I had bought from EA (all DLC, etc) was unavailable. I love running people over in Far Cry 2. I approach a checkpoint and 3-4 guys start firing at me. Occasionally they're clustered, and I go full speed and paste them, including the fools who thought they could jump away at the last second hahaha.
Recently I've been playing ToA with medium maps on "painful" with 5 civs. In each of my last three games, between 1-3 of the other civs have not build a single warship. Then some other warmongering AI declares war on one of the defenseless AIs and a slaughter ensues... ... until I intervene. I have discovered that I can trade my ships to the defenseless AI for virtally all of their money, techs and, in some cases, all of their planets too!
I
One of the first interesting posts I've seen around here on that topic, well done, especially bringing up the fact that most of the strange AI behaviour could be the result of the technology scaling!
Thank you [e digicons]B)[/e] I'm glad I was able to shed light on the issue in a post that was not too boring to fully read heh. I finally have enough of a handle on what I think is going on here conceptually to warrant me creating a post. Hopefully Frogboy will glance at this so I'll strive for brevity. In regard to the tech costs increasing, I call it "scaling" which is a doubling of the research cost of weapon and invasion technologies. Nothing else scales, including defense, which I found interesting. It appears to happen to all races, so it is not tech tree-specific. Nor is it specific to a p

I think people give Frogboy crap because they feel like it's their own way of feeling cool for "sticking it to the man" because he's a CEO. Having him even reading these posts is remarkable, not to mention him taking time to respond with more than 3 words to anything. I've always thought that was very cool, ever since I became a GalCiv2, and thus a Stardock, junkie back in '06. I have no doubt he likes constructive criticism, but can we please cut out the
