Hey, Pedx, it's Alex here, author of the Evon Experience AAR! Good to see (hear) from you! To back up Pedx, Moo3 is a great game, what with all the fantastic work that the modders have done for it. I will agree, that out of the box, it wasn't very good. Alex
45 here. I, too, am pleasantly surprised that there is a significant number of my peers here. I do play LAN games with my 10 year old son (we have a 2nd computer). He is still learning the ropes when it comes to strategic and timely management of his resources in games like Rise of Nations, Starcraft, BFME or C&C Generals, but he can hand me my butt in Starfleet Command III. This would be an interesting game to play on a LAN against my son. He has actually just started t
I, too, voted against multi-player, for exactly the same reason as Chip56. I would only play multi against my son on our lan system. I find turn based games can take an extremely long time when playing against folks that you don't know and it can be difficult to schedule times to complete the game, because playing one game in a sitting is probably not possible.
Ok, here's the scenario. I own a 21PQ planet, everything is great, have 8 ships in the starport. Along comes one of the other races smaller ships (we're not at war) and somehow he ends up in orbit of my planet. Now when I click on the planet, I see the picture of his lone ship and a second picture with my planet with a number 0 in the box. I can still get "into" the planet and make changes to structures, upgrade, etc, but I cannot get access to my 8 ships that are there, somewher
@ Franco fx, Thanks! I believe your response to be much more indicitive of what I feel has happened to me in the game I am playing. I suppose I was just reaching for straws, hoping that there might be something I missed, but, alas, it appears that you are, in all likelihood, absolutely correct. Have a good one! Alex
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I have had this random event occur when I am already extremely advanced in diplomacy. ( I have started with advanced diplomacy as one of my races' special abilities, have already researched the heck out of the diplomatic arm of research, etc.) In fact, when I deal with other races, it invariably states that I am quite advanced in my diplomatic abilities. I assumed ( I know, I should never assume) that this pop-up indicated that this wo
I buy either 2 research and 1 market or 1 research and 2 market, depending on how I feel at the time
OK, here's the scenario, I am sure all of you have seen this. A pop-up appears stating that some minor race has "acquired" all the techs of another major race and it implies that they would trade all of it, indicating that they are interested in acquiring additional planets. Great! I have immediately tried to trade them a planet for this tech, but can't seem to do it. Is there a trick to going about taking advantage of this? There have been times when I have "o
I am playing a game currently where one of the minor races is at war with me, because they kept putting influence star bases next to my homeworld, so I trashed them and started a war. Well, the buggers took one of my planets which I had to take back and then later, when another major civ surrendered to me, giving me one far flung planet on the far side of the galaxy, I lost that one to an invasion by the same minor race! They cert
