We didn't put in cheat codes because it's super easy to mod the game which is like having infinite ways of cheating.
thank you for the prompt and concise answer.

did the developers put in cheat codes, codes that cheat, or some letter combination that results in some sort of yield for the player (you). What i'm getting at here is did they put in the traditional "cheat codes", sally shears and the like. to cut a couple of you off: 1) I don't care about what you think about cheat codes. Every time a game releases, someone has to ask this question, and they get flamed. I didn't see a cheat code request thread, ergo, I'm doing m

the ability to spawn a universe with no PQ 0 planets, IE, starting with every planet as 10+, or, the ability to change a given planets' PQ from 0 to 10 or more as necessary, but still reaping the benefits of taking it from 0 to 10.

I do have sympathy for anyone that is having any kind of issues with any games these days. I purchased Civilization IV and was incredibly disappointed by Crash to Desktop bugs, completely broken for a large base of folks till the first patch was released. But Frogboy is right on the money (naturally) telling us what is going wrong can help us troubleshoot your problems and get you up and running.

unless... Perhaps EnhancementPotential is the value of how much a planet can be increased in PQ where the ClassRange values are PQ and the % chance to have that PQ. Which would mean an Eden level planet has a 100% chance of having a base value of being a Level 16 with an enhancement potential of 10, so thats 26 max? I'll test this.

I believe that the usable tiles is a base figure, that is, X number of tiles for a class 11 planet, Y number of tiles for a class 12 planet. I am going to start playing around with this XML and see what happens. hopefully I can learn what each of these values are.

I was wondering what file I can edit within the games data XML to force planets and/or stars to maintain a greater number of habitable planets. I was looking at Planetdescriptions.xml but I have no idea what these numbers mean: ..... PlanetDescription ------- Name BarrenNoPotential /Name ------- ColorScheme Barren /ColorScheme ------- UsableElevationRange 0.4,0.8 /UsableElevationRange ------- EnhancementPotential 0 /EnhancementPotential ------- ClassRange 1,7 /ClassRange
