Desktop icons solid background + no text shadow... in Icons WinCustomize Forums

Overview: I had never been able to figure out why I couldn't get transparent background and a text shadow back on my desktop icons after they mysteriously vanished, then I found out WindowFX could help me solve my problem. But... Problem: I don't want to be loading WindowFX every time Windows starts just for the use of this one function. Does anyone know anyway of setting WinXP (Pro) to do this? It does it by default but I can't figure out
