4. Stack sizes
I think the stack size of 12 is fine. The one thing i started thinking about today was, what if only 1 stack was allowed per square? this would allow you to hold up defensive positions (choke points) and get a better idea of what kind of army is running around. As it is now, there could be multiple 12 unit stacks in a square, pretty misleading. (i'm using unit as the stack slots. ex. sov, 1 company,

i'm playing a game right now on novice and according to the kingdom report Umber's net income is -4772 gildar, yet the wages keep going up (right now it's at 4918). i had a gildar leak, was down to 50 gildar and couldn't build ANYTHING, yet the Umber are spitting out companies of troops with lord hammers. oh..also their power rating is 22885. If i speak to the leader, it shows Umber as having -501248 gildar, on the diplomacy screen. with that much money loss, those tr
I have noticed this as well. Unit was created, moved army out of city, crashed. reloaded autosave and unit was nowhere to be found and not training. Autosave was the turn before i left the city.
still getting memory leak. Here is my pastebin. http://pastebin.ca/1933699
awesome. I can't wait to position the camera behind a monster and watch the arrows/spells come flying at it. [e digicons]}:)[/e] And also this: + Auto selection of the next unit in tactical battles should no longer occur if the game option for not auto selecting is turned on.
I think I saw an option in the settings to disable auto unit selection, but I'm not sure.
I saw that too. I like it for the map selection of units but if it turns off the feature during battles, I may just have to use the "next idle unit" shortcut more often. [e digicons]:P[/e]
Hey everyone, just wondering if there is a way to turn off the camera auto follow for arrows and spells? I unchecked "follow unit" in the gameplay menu but that didn't seem to help, I guess that is only for the map. The constant snapping back and forth of the camera makes my eyes bug out. also, is there a way to turn off auto select next unit? I see that it just goes down the unit tree but that doesn't follow how the units are placed on the battlefield.&nbs
yes i use one, in fact i have two. one for my pc and one for my wifes pc. They are very much worth it. It can save you some money in the long run by not having to buy burned out parts. My area went through a period where there were daily outtages and it cost me a motherboard and powersupply. The ups software can shut down your pc safely when power stays out too long. It also gives your pc a nice power signal. It cleans up the electricity coming out of your outlet to give your pc
yeah, what Astax said. on the Gaian Crescent map your planet isn't your "home" planet at the start. make it your capital planet asap.
cable was having problems all weekend. tv and internet were borked. sorry i missed ya.
i might be up for a game.
what time are you thinking on for friday?
couldn't hurt to check the vid card fan, make sure it's working, and clean the dust from it. my wife loves to play TF2 and one day it started freezing up on her. i did some investigating and found that the fan on the card died but by that point it was too late. the card was damaged. her core temp never got very high either. i've also heard about an nvidia fix. however, i have an 8800gt and have had no issues with freezing, even after a 6 hour stint.
lol@ikconik sort of why i started the post. hehe. i guess i'll check out the tech's and just explore when i can sneak it in. :P
you may want to try "easy fortifier". the AI won't be too rough on you ;p
it took me a couple of restarts to figure this one out but the biggest and easiest to thing to overlook is that your planet is not your home planet. try and make it your homeplanet as soon as you safely possible. this will boost your allegiance up to 100% and you will make money faster. the planet starts with 25% allegiance. if i remember correctly, i immediatley made it my home planet and built the free cap ship to stem the pirate attacks i couldn't afford to buy out.
if you explore a planet but don't find anything the first time (50% explored), should you pay to explore it the second time (100% explored)? how about for the reverse; if you find something at 50% explored should you pay to get to 100% explored? thanks
i agree with bonscott
i think those are the home planet/artifact markers.
hey guys, back from a great 4 days of skiing. looking to get a game going when you guys start a new one. my brother in law is probably going to pick up the game as well (after the not-so-hard-sell) hehe.
just got the newsletter: Sept. 7, 2008 is official release date [link="http://www.spore.com/screenshots.php?movieID=7&play=lo"]Spore Release Date Announcment[/link]
i have an 8800gt as well and mine runs like a dream. does it happen in other games as well? are you using Vista? there have been some links to an update addressing a memory issue in Vista.
in reference to ICO, here is something i posted earlier: [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=402&aid=176844"]Multiplayer Filter Suggestion[/link] here is what i posted: It would be great to be able to filter out password protected games, games loaded from saves, and games with only friend slots available. 3/4 of the games at a given moment are some combo of those attributes. it's kind of a bummer to see a game, get all excited, and then see that it is password
hehe..neat..sortof like the skillpoint calculator on the WoW website. uhh...wait, what's WoW anyway? :p
hmmm..interesting thought, blind bidding. Reiner Knizia uses this mechanic in quite a few of his boardgames. the man is one of the best in the business.
