I disagree. I played a game where I allied with the Terrans. They were much more powerful than me, but I used them to do war for me against my ennemies. It worked very well! And even if they were way more powerful than me, they were really nice to me, as I was doing lot of trade with them. I suppose my alignment was important in that situation too. I often use the alliance to give me a little more time before I can really kic

Too bad I am French... I love what you do, and have good 3D skills (but in OpenGL), and I am specialized in artificial intelligence Anyway, if you read this Brad, I would be very insterested in knowing which techniques you used for the GalCiv II's AI. You did some great job here with this game, all of you at Stardock, and don't bother about

I owned about 60 planets during my last game, and I was not spending my time on micromanagement at all ! Generally you set the 'configuration' of a planet only once you get it, you let it build, grow, just live... I'm having the same problem!!! It's a bit frustrating as the forum generally timeout for me @BoogieBac : isn't it Dr. Fumke in Arr. Dev ? To avoid any misunderstanding, let's just call him... a nevernude ?

Thanks to all of you for your responses After a whole week-end spent playing the game, I now am able to keep planets with 21B population, with a tax rate of 60%, with an approval rating > 50% I developped the entertainment branch of the research tree.

My taxes are very low, around 20%. I only get around -20% of disapproval about taxes from my population. The important part is when I am on the economic screen, the tooltip of the approval label tells me I have various bonuses due to the entertainment and the good atmosphere of my planet. But I get a '-70% population', which is not clear at all what it really means. Surpopulation ? How can I get this malus corrected, as it involves an overall approval of 38% !!! I already have entertainment such

Hi! I am having a hard time improving the approval rating on a planet. When I hover on the information, I have planet bonuses, people do not like my taxes, but the more important part is I get a '-70% population'. What does it mean exactly ? What should I do/build ?
