Did you know that custom races exist? DID YOU?

Wait, so then the AI can change it's good/evilness during the game? Interesting...
Yar.... I figured this out after breaking about 10 trade routes while trying to put faster ships on the route. Very stupid of me to do. Indeed, once a trade route is established there is no need to do anything to upgrade it. It will just chug along at 1 parsec singing songs all the way.* *Note, you can only hear the song from maximum zoom in level. It turns out that all freighters listen incessantly to "Yellow Submarine." Who
The two suggestions I like in here are the use of espionage to see how the AI will probably vote and the ability to swing votes by paying people off. Anybody here ever played Disgaea for PS2? If so, think about how you could pay off senators in that game.... same sorta thing, but GalCiviz
In recent games, I have had fairly good luck with a semi mean little trick. YMMV of course. I have found that if a race is starting to pester me a bit, I can usually trade them a tech or two (I tend to be a major tech trader) for a bunch of their ships. Usually this will give me the military presense to get them to back off, and weaken their own military. A few games, after doing this, I immediately trade all those ships to anyb
Early on I was making crazy ship designs, but I quickly discovered due to my VERY low system power, these were killing my computer every time I went into 3d view. Now I pretty much go with a pretty standardized system that is simple, but lets me know what type of ship it is in 3d view easily. For example, all my construction vehicles have two arms that stretch out in front of them a ways, all trading ships have two huge wide wings, etc.<br/
Wyvern, if you chat a lot in the background, play the game in windowed mode. I believe Brad told me a while back that the game uses a different mode of memory managment (or something technical like that) when windowed, so it should work well in that mode for you. Give it a try at least!
I will do my best to address a few of these points, though I have only played a few games. >>Minor races: I, too, would like to see more the minor races items and trade more with them. As they are now, they are actually supposed to be there for you to milk them for technology and stuff. You shouldn't be having that much of a problem with them... >>Transparency: Take a look at those charts that you get access to by clic
An idea: What if, when, say, the pacifist party gets elected instead of you, you get the pacifist party bonus BUT all your other area (ALL OF THEM) suffer by say 5 to 10% due to "inefficiency" in the government.
Took me a little while to find it, yeah, it's that first tab, right above trade embargo. I decimated the insects after I broke with them... it was beautiful. I had convinved them to send their military after the guy on their other front, then I back attacked them. Mwahaha!
Brad, you rock. I'll be sure to notify you asap if the performance options work for me. I'm betting it has to do with hardware t&l, as I believe my card lacks that. Thanks a billion infinities +1!
I don't know if this has been mentioned... Can we not have tiles on planets that give +300% to food producation? I acidentally had a single farm on that tile, and I could not ever get that planet happy. I eventually destroyed it. 300% is just faaaar too many people.
