I'd like to see a game option setting for no events at all. Even some events that are not Mega-events are disruptive enough to mess up the game for me (like, losing 1 of my four planets to a criminal syndicate or cult or something). People who like them can leave them on, people who don't can turn them off... I really like Loupdinour's suggestion, pasted below! 5. A new item on the main menu called "I'm feeling lucky" that randomly picks a race for you, randomly picks all the

So it sounds like a good game start option would be to also allow turning regular events off. No harm to those who like them, and for those of us who want a more predictable game against the AI we don't have to keep reverting to save games from before the event.
Only the overall recent posts list is limited to the past 72 hours. In the individual forums themselves, you can page all the way back to 2006 when this board was opened.
DOH! I see, I had to click "View all recent posts" and then I get the page numbers. Thanks!
Please tell me if I'm missing something here, but from what I can tell navigating these forums in either IE7 or Firefox, you can't browse back in the forums beyond the subjects that show up on the first page? I know older posts exist because they show up in searches, but you can't browse to them? Is this correct? Thanks!

I have to agree that it should be called out in the patch notes. There is no reason not to. I lost a huge game I had in progress too, and if I had seen that in the patch notes I would have held off a few days. Because in my experience companies do mention whether or not a patch invalidates saved games, so I just went ahead and patched.
Sins, because they haven't made us buy an expansion pack for almost the cost of the original game to fix their bugs and horrible balance (*cough* forged alliance *cough*). I am very happy with Sins right out of the box. I couldn't even get SupCom to play for a month or so after it came out. When I did I had to get a mod AI (all hail Sorian) to get a challenge out of playing it.
For Sci-Fi that involves starship combat: The Forever War by Joe Haldeman - excellent story and also technically interesting for how war and combat would work with starships, faster-than-light and Relativity. And Powered Armor I strongly second the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons Also, the Uplift Saga series by David Brin. Sundi
I don't think it's really an exploit either. So another race sees tons of Frigates around your planets. They may not have the intel/espionage to realize they are empty hulks. It's kind of like what we did before the D-Day invasions with battalions of inflatable tanks for the German recon to see. It would be neat if with high enough espionage another race could see through the deception, but that would be a pretty subtle feature
Save game bug - tried to save a game named something like "Ready for war?" and clicked save, no complaints, no warnings. But game did NOT save. Quit the game thinking I'd saved, some back later and there go a bunch of weeks, conquests etc because the game was NOT in the list. I found the save game folder, it just isn't there. I can understand if the save game name is the file name, but don't fail silently, please warn us that the game was
