I installed Virtual Desktop, but when I right-click it on the taskbar, the "Configure Virtual Desktops..." option is not available. I can select two modes and choose to retrieve all windows, but it won't let me configure it. I rebooted twice since installing it and still no luck. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 and WindowBlinds5 if that makes a difference.

Richrap, Have you tried reinstalling or re-downloading WB4? Did you uninstall/unload your previous version of WB? I don't know what else could be causing those problems..
Ah hah! So that's what it is. Thanks I didn't know there was that much info about it..
What does UIS stand for anyways? I'll have to give it a try on the programs I had previously excluded from being skinned.
Jane, couldn't you add your Tax and Scanner program to the list of programs NOT to skin? If you add them to the 'Per Application' list and tell it to not skin those, then it should work. I had similar problems with some of my programs not working either until I told WB to not skin them.
"How do I get the WB icon out of my tray? Can't find a toggle anywhere." Open the WB config, then select 'User Overrides' on the left. Then un-check the 'Show icon in system tray' box. Hope that helps.
Yeah, the skin still works even if you dont have WB4. The WB4 skins just have a few extra things to skin the shutdown and log-off prompt windows.. and such. I used some WB4 skins when I was still using 3.5 and they worked fine.
Ridge, there's an option to turn the user pic off.. yours may be set for that. As for the Win2k/9x support for WB4: Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't some of the features not even be supported by older versions of Windows? If so, then there probably wouldn't be as much of a difference between WB3.x and 4.x for them anyways.
>"Hmm, it seems that background (explorer) bitmaps have been disabled. I can't find it anywhere" > >"Explorer bitmaps are not in WB 4 right now. >They may reappear in WB 4.1" Ahh, I was going to ask about that too. Little surprised they aren't included with WB4 seeing as they were there in previous versions.
Instead of setting a date for the release, they should have just said that it will be out when it's done. heh I think that would be better than continuing to push the date back all the time.
"..still has huge (over-sized) toolbar buttons and pooched progress bars." Doesn't that change depending on the skin you use?
hah Funny how some people just assume how others live their lives. RE: Also: - Yeah, it looks like he was more anxious to get WB4 than some of us.
Yeah, now all you need is a 'Comments' feature so we can praise your good work.
Sorry for the double post, but my last post was in reply to 'uh kenNy'.
Are you a subscriber of OD? If not, then you can't download it yet. But if you are, then you hav to ask someone else that question.
I wasn't complaining about it being released later.. I wasn't complaining about anything for that matter. It was only my opinion. If you don't feel the same way, then that's fine with me. I'm not here to argue.
abdi8, That's just a figure of speech. When they say that they "opened its door to the general public", it just means thats when the website was available to the public.
Yeah, it could be an April Fool's joke.. maybe we'll find out tomorrow. Thornz, I think they should allow WB subscribers to test the beta's of future WB versions. That way more people can test it. It's not like I want to test the beta of ObjectBar or any of the other OD utilities. That's just how I feel though.. I never said I was disappointed about it.
Yeah, I agree with Modan. First it was supposed to be released the 25th(?), then it was pushed back to this week, and now it looks like next week. I wonder why those that only pay for WB, have to wait for the final release, unlike the OB people. Just because I don't want the whole package, mean I can't get the early versions of WB? I think only those people who use the free version should have to wait. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/grim.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs
Yeah, that's what it says on the WinCustomize home page: "Monday, March 24, 2003 - WindowBlinds delay We are still putting some finishing touches on WindowBlinds 4. So we've decided to delay until the week of March 31st."
Ah! Cool. Thanks I just wish it came out today as previously stated. heh Now I've got to wait till next week.
Well if he is able to hear more than one sound normally on his PC speakers, then it should work on his home system too.
I just wanted to know if older WB skins (those not made specifically for WB4) will benefit from the faster GUI drawing that WB4 has, or if only those skins made with the WB4 features will benefit. Thanks
Hmm, I tried that and it still isn't working. I've got WinXP Pro SP1 if that is of any importance..
Here's a quote from Stardock.com: "A popular feature that isn't discussed as often now is the ability to make explorer backgrounds semi-transparent (Hyperpaint must be disabled for this to work fully)." I tried this and was not able to make the backgrounds trasparent in any way. I checked the 'Make Explorer backgrounds "semi-sransparent"'-button and turned off Hyperpaint, yet my backgrounds are not transparent. I have the full version 3.5 of Windowblinds. Do I need a Windowb
