Playing a second game, difficulty lowered a notch. Doing much better, though I let my Tandis stack wander and I paid for it by losing 2 of my 4 cities!
I am realizing I am very bised by playing so much LH, and my expectations are based on that game. I'll try to fight this bias consciously as much as possible.
So to continue:
Good:
-Challenge is consistent.
-Resources are much more plentiful for me this map. Lack of resources might have been a one-off last game, or map-related, we'll see.
-Built the crafting buildings this round, indeed crafting is opening up a bit.
-I think I've encountered only one repeat quest (the wizard recruitment quest, which is probably starting location based and intended). There does indeed seem to be many written quests for the game!
Needs work:
-Loot: despite seeing more of the crafting, I wish I could still get a sweet sword or pair of armor every now and then, not just a flood of ingredients. Are there loot-only equipment items awaiting, or is crafting all I get?
-Spell choices: In this second game, where I've done much better, I ran out of spells to research after about 3 hours. Sure I can cycle away from Lore, but I'd think this should take longer. Can the Sovereign slowly get spells from other books not chosen at start, but at a much reduced rate?
