This is the story of the last of the Babylon 5 mod-efforts. It's goal, to prevent another failure, by creating a place to solve our problems collaboratively. Its a port of call, home away from home, for modelers, texturers, programmers and sound engineers.

Sins Of The Younger Races Remastered

NEW - Balvarin Carrier and Minor Factions fix!

 

 

Installation Guide:

  1. Download the latest Sins Remastered mod from here:
    https://www.moddb.com/mods/sinsre
  2. Extract the archive into a 'SinsRemastered' folder in your 'C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder.
  3. Download the latest Babylon 5 Sins of the Younger Races mod from here:
    https://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-the-younger-races
  4. Extract the archive into your root 'Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder instead of a new mod folder as the archive ALREADY contains a premade 'SotyrRemastered' folder inside of it (so if you're not careful you'll end up with a mod folder inside of a mod folder and it won't work lol).
  5. Start Sins and go to 'Options', then 'Mods', and you should see the mods you've installed.
  6. Enable 'SotyrRemastered' and then enable 'SinsRemastered' too. Make sure that the load order is SotyrRemastered first/top and then SinsRemastered second/bottom.
  7. Restart Sins and you should be good to go!

Sometimes the in-game mod loader can be a bit funky so if you can't see the mods you've installed or something isn't working then enabling the mods via the 'EnabledMods.txt' file in your 'Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder where you installed the mods to is the other alternative. It should look like this to work:

Worked for me, but I have to wait for a new headset to arrive to fully appreciate the recordings...(cat snagged the cord of the current set and suffice to say I had to order a new one).

Yeah discord is not the best for file sharing unless everyones on the same channel.

Cloud storage is prob the easiest way to exchange files.. eg most people have a google account either due to an android phone account, a youtube account or a chrome account which all comes under google and if you've got a google account then that means you've got an unused google drive account with like 5-10 gig on it which you can drag and drop files into and then share with others.

If you have a microsoft account or you have an old hotmail or windows live account then that means you'd have a unused onedrive account with around 5 gig on it which can be used in the same way.

Dropbox is another popular one too.

All are free, all easy to use, all have gigs of storage for sharing files, and most people likely already have one or more of them without realising it haha.

First JWS needs to write, shoot and release the pilot, then we'll see if the network agrees to funding and for how long.

At least long form story telling isn't new and novel anymore.

Yup JMS has been posting about the reboot on his twitter. He's writer and showrunner for the reboot. Considering the toll the original show took on him I hope the reboot doesn't send him to an early grave!

The original had 22 episode seasons, new standard is 12ish, but since he's writing an arc it could be a custom number. So many unknowns.

Well, as much as I LOVE B5 it had quit a few filler episodes. So it could do with less. But 12 per seasons would really be detrimental to character development

Thanks for the hint/idea but searching all of the mods files there is no reference whatsoever to TITAN_MADVASARI in any of them.

Which version of the mod are you using? Are you loading Sins Remastered before SOTYR?

in enable i put remastered94b before soty so ?

Should be OK. Not sure because not on my PC. Still I have no idea where the reference comes from as we do not use it anywhere. If you find out please notify me and I will correct it.

If the error is repeatable, that means there is a string of Vanilla code calling for a TITAN_MADVASARI script in a file name we've usurped for the mod. It's unlikely to be a ship ability unless the dev team recycled an ability.

Good idea! Might be something from Vanilla that is referenced indirectly.

The pirate and minor factions recycle a lot of existing scripts (devs were lazy) and they were a devil to chase down since they aren't in the "player" code but are reserved for NPC code. It's my best guess of an avenue to hunt down the bug.

Hi mouack,

nice of you to chime in. I think it is a good start for you to learning modding though a bit heavy on the colours for my taste (less saturation might do it good).

I will not promise that I will take it but you can always publish your files as an addon to our mod. I would suggest you try yourselve out a bit and also would suggest to read up on good interface design. Try to develop a stringent theme that is easy to understand yet not bland.

Another thing I would suggest is that you do not use any original source material (pictures from the series, unlicensed art from other sources etc.).

We do ourselves already risk too much by using in part the intro of season 5 so I will not risk further.

Also you could take inspiration from the different designs that were present throughout the series:

 

Whateverway you choose, iterate on it until you feel it could stand up to professional level work. Doing is the best way to learn. And have fun!
