Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

  

 

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

Abilities. However, there is nothing saying that can't be done as an ability. We could have something like that, with a cooldown signifying that targeting ship systems in rare, and a limited duration due to repairs.

that is possible, but I would have to get with Derbal to look into that. Right now though he is working hard on the stargate effect, and we sort of have something to show, but we dont want to show it till it is perfect.

OMG i heard that season 5 will be the last of Stargate Atlantis!  X-(  The ending will be in Januari 2009. Will this mod be ready by then perhaps?

Good news is, they are making a new spinoff series: Stargate Universe.

And there will be more movies of Stargate!  :CONGRAT: 

So dont let youre hopes down!

I dont think the mod will be ready by January, we arent even close to finished on even one race. With Derbal, Lord Set and Loki both going back to college/University it will be harder to get major updates done.

Hi, i jsut read through the entire thread!... pfew alot of stuff. i love the looks of it all! nice work!

@Eomega:

would it be a option to add the ships to the current game? tauri ships in TEC etc.?

maybe even replace a couple of ships. just as a temporary solution? your probably gonna say no but im just asking... Figured it was a good idea... anyways, It all looks great! cant wait to start culling some planets >:D

i just hope this will get finished in time :)

Thanks :P took me a while to do that ship

iam back at uni now so i have limited time to do the mod :(, ill still be working on mod stuff but it wont be as fast as before just much much slower :p

currently i am just finishing up a ship for the tauri ( a light carrier)

other than that ill prolly do a little more work on the planets etc

(and althought not offically for the mod yet.. as seen on earlier pages some more work on the asgard, even tho they are not in this part of the mod :P, i am a bit of an asgard fan lolz ^^ )

Personally I use 3DS Max, but Loki uses XSI to mod, so we are kinda diverse in that sense, lol.

We are replacing all the models from each race for the mod, and I dont believe that the mod will be ready by then.  There is still a lot that needs to be done before its anywhere close to a release.

I will put it up on Moddb when I have more to show, like ingame movies and such. For now I want to hold off for a little bit, till we can get our Stargate portal effect done, cause that will make everyone go :omg: and then  :smitten: .  I will start a site on there as soon as I get the files from Derbal for the Stargate effect once we perfect it.

Just an idea I had, thought I'd suggest it as I have no idea how modding works;

 

Could a 'Seed Space Gate' ability be added to the tactical structure list? Looking at the show, you could just have one per planet, but have it as some sort of super-hangar defence that could launch a lot of ships, all pouring out of the gate. I'm not sure if its possible, but perhaps your entire empire could share a set number of ships, that can be deployed from any space gate, then 'redock' with it and be instantly deployed out of another one to defend a different planet?

Just a thought, btw, loving the Asuran Battleship, definately the race I can't wait to play, keep up the good work!

why don't any of the earth ships have rail guns? the asguard weapons arent their only offenive weapon..

This is an interesting idea, might have to look into it with Derbals help.

they do have railguns, it just appears that they only have Asgard Beam weapons as the units in all the screens are all fully upgraded.  I will take some screenshots of the basic models tomorrow when I get a chance to show you that Rail guns are, for the most part, done.
