You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

I'm fairly disappointed in my gig map game. I switched from my normal all factory buildup to an all econ buildup after the failed upgrade attempt. My military only reached 6.9 mil by Dec 2228, a tad short of my goal of 7 mil. That's significant, because it'll dictate how the rest of the game progresses.


Can I just say that you're crazy! How in the world do you maintain interest and sanity when faced with so much? Heh, my military is like 800 in my current game according to the timeline. Well, it is a medium map and I'm kinda decimated, but still... What the heck does 7 million look like?

How many planets do you have? How long have you been playing this one game?

I've never played a gigantic map. I have tried a large/abundant, but it was at an easier difficulty and I quit playing after a very short time when it became apparent I was completely dominating the poor AI.

I believe his game has slowed to 1-2 turns per real-life day, speaking about patience...

As far as I can remember I haven't tried anything bigger than "large" and score-wise it doesn't seem worth it compared to several smaller maps which can be played in the same time span. And then I'm not even talking about fun-wise. I might try a huge one just to have a taste though.

(Many missile hyperspace in and colide with random TOE ships. There is massive hull tearing and metal groaning as the ships are slowly infected by a biological entitiy. they are now under Beast control)

Actually, it goes beyond a simple game when it gets to this extreme. It's seeing how far you can take something on a technical level. Kind of like taking your wife's favorite blender apart to get an idea of how it works. I can't see doing it too often.

I don't remember exactly how many planets I have, but it's somewhere around 470. I've been playing this one game since February or March, but not spending a lot of time per day. I've had other priorities going.

What the heck does 7 million look like?
Pretty much like the picture I posted.


Oh, I didn't mean the chart. I was trying to imagine how many ships it takes to get a 7 million score. If you lined them up, single file, is it taller than the Empire State Building? Seriously though, is it thousands of ships? Gah, the mind boggles.

Everflyer: "Not as dead as you had hoped Beast. Kzinti the Beast are againest all of us... They have infected many ships and control a vast region in space dispite they have only bee active in this galaxy for 2 weeks. they are not Humaniod, they are Biolocial race that infect ship using a sample of their cell tissue. They grow at astronomical rates and an not affacted by most weapons. when they take over a ship it's not crew to crew combat like what your race is use to. They will grow across the hulls and into the corridors. even through crewmembers just to use them for bio-warheads for infection missiles.
This is brief overveiw of an infected vessel.

This is an enemy like no other ever encountered. Even the orginal Beast gene isn't fully destoryed yet. this new one is stronger than the last.

It took the Beast mere minute to take over one of your invation fleets... what to stop them from taking over another? or your Imperial Fleet? Or your empire for that matter... Nothing has proved effective againest them because all of our ships have gotten close enough to be infected. now they have Ships from all races they know our weakness, our space, our maps, our ship classes. EVERYTHING!

Just because you grow up doesnt mean you have to give up roleplaying. :) I've been playing D&D and other RPGs for over 20 years now, and it's one of my favorite things to do.
