You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

Welcome Weidbrewer!  Always good to have another Niven fan in the Empire.    I recently re-read some of the Man-Kzin wars books, and plan to get the newer ones whenever I spot cheap copies on Amazon. Did you read the books he wrote with Pournelle, like Footfall, Lucifer's Hammer, the Motie books, etc? Lately though I've been reading the later Black Company books by Glen Cook. I'd like to turn some of the concepts in those books into an RPG campaign. Sentient species taste better...


I also read the M-K series a long time ago, but more recently (couple of years) read Footfall and Lucifer's Hammer. All good stuff. I'm currently finishing up the Honor Harrington series, I'm about half way through with At All Costs.

Any thought on Kzinti ship class names? My Romulans just showed up on the library so after Tholians I'll be working on the Kzinti.

Thanks for the list of Kzinti ship class names. Earlier I was looking back in the ManKzin Wars book 1. The story Cathouse has a Ripping-Fang class cruiser. I will use the names you gave me.

Speaking of the ManKzin Wars books, today when i was in my school's libary i found a copy of Ringworld and the first ManKzin Wars book.

Excellent, definitely read them when you get a chance. I also like Niven's The State series, and many other things he's written.

No, it only looks like that because I turn the planetary graphics off for larger games, to help out with my computer memory deficiencies. So thats a blank planet with no detail. Here is the official description of Kzin:

The Kzinti homeworld orbits the star 61 Ursae Majoris at a distance somewhat greater than that at which Earth orbits the sun. It is a larger world, with gravity 1.55 times that of Earth's. Its year is roughly one and a half times longer than Earth's, and its day is 27 hrs and 36 minutes long. The climate of this world is cooler and drier than Earth's, and since it has a definite axial tilt it also has seasons. It receives less light from it's star, which is redder than Sol; and is consequently dimmer.

So it's earth-like, with the same sorts of various climates, but with the above differences.

Hmmm, that I dont know. I do know that Kzin is the third planet from the home-star, and has at least one moon. I'll look around and see what I can find. :)
