Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

kzin6

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Fairfax, VT. Oh, wow. That really is the middle of nowhere. I went to college in Hanover, NH, which is a couple hours away and an ex-girlfriend went to medical school in Burlington. I spent quite a bit of time in Vermont. Beautiful, but everywhere is so slow and quiet. I guess that gives you plenty of time for gaming, eh?

Motti, nice job!

Welcome to our new warriors!

Congrats to s w h for his first victory for the Empire!

Welcome to our new warriors!

Thanks guys! But I'm somewhat dissatisfied with my scoring. Possibly the scores go down significantly when I manage to bring everybody else to go to war with themselves and only clean up the puny remains??  :NOTSURE:

Hehe, anywhere I live I make sure i have plenty of time for gaming. :) I've lived within a couple miles of Burlington for the last 15 years, and went to UVM, where your gf must have gone too. A couple of my friends graduated from the medical school there. I'm just glad I can get cable-internet in Fairfax where I'm moving to...I was worried I'd have to go back to low-speed!

What builds score is population, economy, military, & technology. The better you can do at any or all of these things in the shortest period of time will increase your score. If you have some specific questions, I'm sure we can answer them. :)

NH, i live there!

We've got a lot of fellow New Englanders it seems. :)

Thanks, CityMan.  :)

Welcome aboard to our new members!  :)

Speaking of New Hampshire, I lived near Portsmouth on the North Beach for a few years. Well, just off of the beach that is. A couple of houses from it, but within view. Nice area and fairly affordable back in the 80s as long as you held two jobs.

I seem to remember monster mosquitoes that could lift small vehicles and would drain 2 pints of blood from you when they bit. Nice other than that though.  ;)

Good luck on the move, KP!  :)

Cold, cold is what I mostly remember about my 4 years in NH. Gah! Nothing to do but drink, drink, drink, then try to study, then drink some more. Beautiful nights though. I used to stay up late often and I spent lots of time looking up at the stars.

I hear that. Always beautiful in the Green Mountain state, regardless of the season. We did have snow flurries a couple of day during the first week of May this year, yuck. I was really sick of winter by that point. I was never much into the drinking too much myself...it interferes with my gaming lifestyle. ;)

Not in VT at least Sethpenguin, but there are hundreds of tiny towns here, and I'm not from VT originally. I grew up down near Washington DC in Bowie, MD.

bah, green forested hills of New England with its colorful fall season...give me the flat endless corn fields of Indiana any day :p

((actually, i miss my hometown in summer; absolutely gorgeous: nice cool breeze coming in off the Lake, the sun reflecting off of the deep blue water...here's a pic from the Bluff down to the mouth of the St. Joseph River feeding into Lake Michigan

**and yes, there really is that much of a stark difference between the color of the River and the Lake

Endless corn...sounds ummm, cool?  :NOTSURE:  Does your lake have mythical lake monsters...

does Vermont have,
or his remains?
Or do you guys have the beauty that is Manchester,
.
Manchester looks a lot like Burlington, the biggest "city" in VT at 40,000 people. Obviously its not as big though, and the tallest building here might be 15 stories, of which there are two. I drive past Manchester every time I go to MA or ME. That Old Man in the Mountain in NH collapsed a couple years ago if I remember correctly.

Yeah, we were all pissed off.

If the Kzinti were communist, it would look something like this:

What would they look like if they fought in the American Civil War?

my hometown itself isn't too big, just under 10,000 people but its at the center of the St.Joseph-Benton Harbor Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has about 152,000 people, or the 251st largest metropolitan region in the US. It is considered an urban area and definitely has its urban core (tall buildings, sprawl, etc etc) but maintains its small town charms. Its home to the world headquarters of Whirlpool Corporation; and the city can also be found in the controversial book "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey (originally shown in Oprah's Book Club, later found to be partly fictional; James was a former St. Joe resident)

a view down State Street in the Historic Commercial District (vs the more 'modern' district). Most of Historic St. Joseph has tried to maintain its brick streets, but over 80% have been paved over due to sever deterioration.

However if they use catnip they could delay your forces long enough to counter the mighty Pukestar.
Our combat-suit filters prevent anything like that. ;)

The Kzinti equivalent of catnip is called zheerekti. Here are two sites that are good resources for Kzinti words & language, as well as other aspects.
