February (is not) SOASE BETA month!!!!!

edited for the last time 2/26/07

So it hasn't been announced what day the beta will be out yet, but we all know it will be this month, I am gonna guess it will be out on a Friday, and probably the 16th of February!

What does everyone else think?

His math skills are so superior, hes forgotten how to do the simple stuff

you mean like proof by extended inductive analysis?
naw, I still remember that
I wonder if the bank would follow your math skillz, I could make out like a king!

this man has what, 900$? so, carry the two... multiply by pi and you get...
yeah, this man's balance comes out to about 350$...

sorry lordkosc...

Thats good to know, I wasn't sure if I could follow a leader without 'skillz'. But I never doubted you..

dont worry, your leader has uber 1337 skillz

as I'm sure some of you noticed I took a simple abstract algebra idea (inductive mathmatical property) and slapped on a bunch of big words.
I feel so proud of myself.

back to the topic,

there is a little over a week to go before the end of the month, I know it was mentioned that nothing would be happening before the 20th of this month,

I think the reason that Myself and others on the forums are getting a little frustrated is because unlike many other betas we have actually paid for access, im sure that the game will appear on torrent sites for free when it does appear, but i am happy knowing that my money will make the game better,

what i am annoyed about is the lack of updates fair enough the developers are working on the game but it takes less then a minute to do a quick post im not looking for your daily schedule just a quick update,

i have paid for the product but still have nothing to show for it,

please post an update on the beta !!

I too can understand the frustation. I feel like I've paid for a car and am still waiting for the test drive.

Not that I want to, but would there be a way to cancel the pre-order?

theoretically , all you have done by pre-ordering is put a hold on the money that will be charged once the beta is out, you in theory haven't paid for anything yet... now if you bought them token things and paid that way , well i dunno what happens then...

anyway stop talking so silly , the beta will be out soon , you can just feel its presence in the air... well its digital presence...

I feel it, in the matrix.

back off topic again:

MATLAB? Luxury! in my day, had to use paper!

back on again:
so, we'll have "more news" this week.
The vagueness is truly with you. This new would be beta related I hope?

I to sence a disturbance in the force, It speaks of great things to come. Or it could be those baked beans....

agh, just release the beta already.

as I remember the game was supposed to be released several months ago... (really REALLY old data) so I find the delay on this beta reassuring (it'll probably be better than the other game would have been) and scary (dammit it was supposed to be OUT already)

Well the extension to the release date was so they could have a lot of time to get feedback and really create a game that was well made.

Although since there is 6~ months left, I'm really wondering how much of an impact our feedback can really have. Especially since I believe this was the one of the reasons to delay it in the first place. (As well as all that new partnership with SD)

Yup, just email [email protected].

Stardock was great when it came to Dark Avatar. I would expect the same. BTW, I finally gave in and pre-ordered. Very much looking forward to being part of the beta.

and I'm in full support

its just odd that they haven't released the beta MONTHS after they were expected to release the game.

trust me, I'm in full favor of this (I dont envy the alternate universe where you guys released it on time)

Finally someone reading 'beta winter 2007' as 'beta december 30 2007' and game released august 2008...

Well I guess the 'one and a half years left' guy also thought of this...

Personally, I think, release the alpha now if the beta isn't done and keep updating through stardock...(or just the beta if that is really ready)

Take as much time as you need for the final product...(even if the game is delayed considerably)

Seriously, if I get another game that can't be finished without several 'updates' then I'll probably have a mental break down!!!!(this hopefully wasn't about this game, just several games that made me rather angry over the years...)

The wait is killing me )
I know it shouldn't.
How about an update ?

So will Duke Nukem Forever... One day...

Has anyone else gone insane?
you're JUST crossing that mark, aren't you...

long since been, long since passed.
I am, and its not pretty. But strangely it is satisfying. The only think that could possibly bring me back to sanity would be a keg of beer and scotch, or the SOASE beta.

Id settle in for the long haul, tide yourself over with Dark Avatar, SupCom, the C&C3 demo thats due out next week, EU3 or whatever. I know the unmistakable sounds of backpeddling when I hear them, and now I wouldnt expect the beta to start until sometime in March (if then).

Playtesting the rough early Beta of the game isnt going to satisfy you as a player anyways because so much stuff will be borked, broken, biffed, boffo, or whatever B word you'd like to use. So I dont know what to tell you...there are any number of prescription medications that may apply.
