So, I got me LH, and I like it. A lot. I don't love it, but it's pretty damn good.
Anyway, with this new skill progression for Mages coupled with the fact that cross-school spells no longer exist (or am I missing something?) there's really not much of a reason for a Mage Sov/Champ to have access to more than 3 schools. Life/Death for flavor, Air for convenience, Fire to burn everything down.
This significantly marginalizes the benefits of Decalon. I remember that in the original FE multiple spellbooks meant POWER. Getting to Disciple in several schools opened up a whole bunch of very powerful and very neat cross-school spells. Now? Meh, it's no biggie. Now Decalon is still nice to have, but I doubt it's worth 2 trait picks. Yeah, I know there are worse traits *cough*slavelord*cough*, but still: Decalon used to be AWESOME, now it's just okay. Am I missing something here?
