Reaching certain locations on the map

Hi guys,

sometimes there is an island consisting of one tile with either a item stash or a magic shard on it. No way to land on it since there is no beach, just cliff, so no way to get to the item. As for the shard, I can only build shrines in my own zone of control. How do I go about that?

Also there are some locations in the scenario I cannot reach due to gates. The yellow faction to the north west for example or a quest location on an island to the east which is behind two gates and a ring of mountains.

Finally: Can I build transport ships? I only got one in the scenario (never encountered them in normal play on the maps).

You can't build ships; only get them through goodie huts

Also: You can access those islands through an Earth Spell called "Raise Land"; from memory it's a level 3 earth spell and it's a great way to by-pass some mountains as well. To use the spell "raise land" you use it on the field of water you want to raise. It only really works on one tile at a time so move your mouse cursor around to ensure there is a real pathway leading to the area; at times it can be tricky.

There is also the Decalon faction trait (available through custom factions, or Pariden), that lets you build arcane monoliths for 50 mana. They can be put on islands you see to grab those resources sooner.
